La sonate "facile" comme on ne l'a jamais entendue !! Sokolov est un pianiste singulier, on le sait. Ses choix de tempis, a contrario de tout ce qu'on entend habituellement, nous obligent à tendre l'oreille et à (re)découvrir cette œuvre d'une profondeur insoupçonnée. On est ici proche de Schubert et de son insondable rapport à l'infini. Quelle précision ! Quelle intelligence ! Quelle sensibilité ! Quelle intériorité ! C'est absolument bouleversant.

I love the slow introspective interpretation of the K545- so many pianists rush through it but Sokolov shows his class. He is not afraid to take his time, giving us a totally different experience. Absolutely wonderful

I never new K545 sonata could sound like this... absolutely magnificent, clean, innocent altogether. I used to listen to Barenboim's rendition alot. Sokolov's version sounds so different than anyone else's.

It's sonata aim at future (relatively to Mozart times). It sounds likeBeethoven, more furious than other Mozart's sonatas

Even good recordings like this here display only 70% or 80% of the live concert experience at best. Sokolov recorded is magic. But Sokolov live is heavenly.

Sadly, Sokolov doesn't give concerts in the USA -- one reason why he doesn't get much publicity here. I've listened to classical since high school, but discovered Sokolov only about four years ago.

Играет, как книгу читает и перелистывает страница за страницей, неспешно, внимательно, вполголоса, замечая все мелочи и словно бы удивляясь им. Такой диалог ведёт с музыкой, что будто вообще ничего вокруг больше не существует, но умудряется в него как магнитом затягивать слушающих.

Ganz wunderbar ausgedrückt! Kommentare solcher Tiefe finde ich oft im Russischen u.verstehe immer mehr, warum meine Königsberger Großeltern eine so starke Affinität zu Rußland hatten. Leider haben wir Deutschen unsere jungen Männer in den Krieg gegen dieses wunderbare Land geschickt.Mein ( mir unbekannter)Vater liegt auch irgendwo in "Mütterchen Rußlands" Erde.

Magical voicing in both. Schnabel once described Mozart's solo piano music (not the concertos) as too easy for children and too difficult for grownups. Not for Sokolov.

I'd heard of Solokov as a legend in his own right-how very "right" that was is shown here. Wonderful, delicate but powerful and so true to Mozartian style-the little differences and ornamentations were pretty. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity.

Many have been critical of his tempo in k457, but I think the problem is that everyone else plays it too fast! This is the perfect tempo, especially for the adagio.

Mozart composed for a forte piano, not a Steinway grand piano. Different mechanics all together which must mean something for the intended tempo. Or so I think. Maybe I am wrong but, anyway, this rendition is perfectely paced.

Отец Моцарта писал сыну: "у тебя нет золотой середины, ты постоянно ходишь от крайности в крайность!" И действительно, как можно после потрясающей патетической Сонаты 457 написать "легкую", безмятежную сонату 545! Хотя последняя соната не такая уж прям легкая, там еще сыграть ХОРОШО надо, а вторая часть у нее одно из самых лирических откровений! Поэтому соната 545 будет вечно жить и с удовольствием исполняться самыми величайшими Мэтрами, такими как например Григорий Соколов, который играет сонату с не меньшим удовольствием чем сонату 457. И хоть здесь нет какой-то большой виртуозности!

La Fantasia por Sokolov es una experiencia maravillosa. Se aprecian texturas y sonoridades que pocas veces son logradas en otras interpretaciones. Juega bellamente con el caracter dual ( ora jugueton, ora dramatico) tipico del genio de Mozart.

I love the magic that Sokolov brings to this Sonata K545 but I most say his embellishments and trills plus, even many of the runs (scale) are different from what is published in the manuscript. I personally would love to have his manuscript of the Sonata K545. I love the this interpretation of this master work.

Wolfgang A. Mozart, 1750- Vienna-1791. Symphonies, the G Minor and the Jupiter; Opera's "Don Giovanni," "Magic Flute," Requiem Mass; string sonatas and string quartets, are among his best works. Before the Tchaikovsky Competition, Grigory Sokolov won the All-Russian and All-Union competitions. He performed from the age of 12, all famous musicians who came on tour to Russia were invited to listen to him at the music school....

😢😮❤one can learn so much from just watching this , total rethink about everything l thought l knew how to play this , back to the drawing board. That’s what makes videos and performances like this fantastic.

Normally they say that about playing too fast ... sokolov proves that playing slowly is almost harder than playing fast! (he also proves it with his prok 7 precipitato)
