My brother is now 40 and doing 5 to 50! Don't end up a waste of humanity. Due to a gunshot aI've been on opiates for 27.5 years now. It's a battle not to take more than prescribed. Zero od's NEVER gone in early with excuses for more (my dog ate it etc). I will be on them indefinitely. Never used Heroin or hard drugs even once in my life, I'll be 50 in under a year. You can win the battle you just find the reason you want to!

+++ We ALL addicted to something. In most times : MONEY ! - People who are FREE choose addictions by theirselfs with the target to be HAPPY. Also LOVE to another person is a kind of ADDICTION. Most of the mankind are MASOCHISTIC DUMBASSES - and try to IMPROVE THE WORLD. When we are young nearly everybody of us wants TO RULE THE WORLD - in the conviction to can do better like the generation before ( The parents ). Sometimes True - In the most cases : WRONG ! - To be "Adult" in age of 18 - 21 years means NOT always to be responsible. All our IDOLS , the stars from Movies or music business are ADDICTED to Industry to Money and to her followers. If you have no followers , no connections , no money = YOU ARE NOTHING IN THIS WORLD. - If all your IDOLS are Liars an puppets on a string - WHAT ARE YOU ? A follower of IDIOTS ! I see a lot of people saying that Grimes is a drug addict or that she supports drugs, sure, the song doesn't blatantly say 'DRUGS ARE BAD DONT DO DRUGS,' but that is the message of the song. She's lamenting all the friends she lost from overdosing, and I don't see how that supports drug use in any way. She admitted to using them in the past, but I think the point of the song is that she has changed.
@marmina1283

yess idk why people keep thinking to demonize drugs is the way to go, it just creates this myth around them, its better if we could just acknoledge that drugs exist and that they are dangerous, they are not inherently "bad" but you should be really careful about some and just avoid others

@@marmina1283 Drugs sometimes are taken for daily use, for it's properties without good justification. Many use it to not deal with their issues. I don't think drugs are necessary bad heck medicine are drugs but I think taking foreign substances in the body for personal reason without professional approval is not safe Everyone shouldn't go around self assessing their issues I struggle with depression daily and anxiety and have at times attempted taking prescribe medicine for it as well as to ponder on maybe venturing out and use foreign substances but at the end of the day your problems don't go away and it takes time to heal some wounds.

Lyrics: Lying so awake, things I can't escape Lately, I just turn 'em into demons Flew into the sun, fucking heroin Lately I just turn 'em into reasons and excuses Always down when I'm not up Guess it's just my rotten luck To fill my time with permanent blue But I can't see above it Guess I fucking love it But, oh, I didn't mean to I see everything, I see everything Don't you tell me now that I don't want it But I did everything, I did everything More lines on the mirror than a sonnet (woo!) Funny how they think us naive when we're on the brink Innocence was fleeting like a season Cannot comprehend, lost so many men Lately, all their ghosts turn into reasons and excuses Always down when I'm not up Guess it's just my rotten luck To fill my time with permanent blue But I can't see above it Guess I fucking love it But, oh, I didn't mean to I see everything, I see everything Don't you tell me now that I don't want it But I did everything, I did everything More lines on the mirror than a sonnet (x2)

I really like this song a lot more after reading the description. I lost my fiancé to heroin. I tried so hard to get him to quit his addiction for so long but I couldn’t. It made me feel like I failed. The grieving was so painful that I picked up and started using heroin for a while too to cope with his loss, and I even came close to death a few times. The guilt of possibly making other people go through what I went through was enough to make me stop. I’ve been a year and a half clean now. We also played banjo together a lot so I really like the addition of that plus the acoustic guitar.

Her hair represents the passage of time. Those are old hair colors she has rocked at different times and you can see that she has grown and time has passed. She is literally back to her roots and her must natural state. But she hasnt cut the hair off, she hasnt let the past go. If you watch at 1:09 after she sings more “more lines on the mirror than a sonnet” which is an amazing line cause a sonnet is a poem that is 14 lines long, she says “woo!” and dabs like she is remembering partying then falls backwards in slow motion as if she’s been hit in the heart. She faces the other way with her arms similar to a dab but now she is crying and this one piece of body language is so deeply meaningful to me. It’s such a raw moment of yearning, reflection, sadness, and regret.

On a less somber note to the rest of the comments, Grimes' vocal performance here is one of her best, if not her best. I love how you can actually hear her normal talking voices lisp, and the country twang she inflects is just gorgeous. What's more the vocal melody is sublime, S-tier, phenomenal. Maybe it stems from the raw pain this song grew from, it just hits perfectly, so addicting. Honestly one of her best songs all round and that includes Oblivion, in my mind one of the most important and definitive songs post millennium. Grimes we love you

I didn’t know what to expect when I saw she released this on Spotify the day it came out. I was walking home from work, and it became one of the most beautiful moments in my life. I’ve struggled with substance abuse and living with multiple mental illnesses for my entire adult life. The last two drugs for me to overcome have been caffeine and nicotine. I recently let go of the cigarettes, and have been feeling amazing. A big part of my struggles have been largely based on self-worth issues. The day this song was released was the first day I had felt amazing in a long time. Earlier on that day, the self-destructive thoughts started coming, making me doubt if I deserved to feel good, stable. But listening to this song on that walk home totally changed me. I got choked up, realizing that I do deserve it. That part in the chorus, “I see everything, I see everything,” hit me so hard. That night made this my favorite song. Thank you, Grimes.

Anyone else get tears with how incredible this performance is? I remember when Grimes first started releasing music - so creative and artistically experimental. In her first few videos I remember her wild, unique dancing; the kind of flow that comes from one's soul, where you just let loose and let your vibe move you. It's like she's honed that creative, true part of her and it's both her defining superpower and her catalyst for evolution. Incredible that this is just her and who she is.

+++ I like Grimes stylings and often STRANGE lyrics. - She remembers to the young BJÖRK. Listen to Music from BJÖRK in the 90th. She created A NEW MUSIC STYLE with combinations of (Island Celtic ) Ethno and Techno. And her Voice and her Vocal lines are UNIQUE ! The Video to ARMY OF ME ( 90th ) is amazing. + + + All the best to you - From an old, badass guitar shredder from Germany *****************************************************************************

Lying so awake, things I can't escape Lately, I just turn 'em into demons Flowing to the sun, fucking heroin Lately I just turn 'em into reasons and excuses Always down when I'm not up Guess it's just my rotten luck To fill my time with permanent blue But I can't see above it Guess I fucking love it But, oh, I didn't mean to I see everything, I see everything Don't you tell me now that I don't want it But I did everything, I did everything More lines on the mirror than a sonnet (woo) Funny how they think us naive when we're on the brink Innocence was fleeting like a season Cannot comprehend, lost so many men Lately, all the ghosts turned into reasons and excuses Always down when I'm not up Guess it's just my rotten luck To fill my time with permanent blue But I can't see above it Guess I fucking love it But, oh, I didn't mean to I see everything, I see everything Don't you tell me now that I don't want it But I did everything, I did everything More lines on the mirror than a sonnet (woo) I see everything, I see everything Don't you tell me now that I don't want it But I did everything, I did everything More lines on the mirror than a sonnet
