If I recall properly, by this point in the war, most of Japan's quality pilots were dead. Having been lost in Midway, Guadalcanal, etc. So in order to be realistic, for this video and the last, the AI settings on the enemy pilots shouldn't be as high as they were during the Pearl Harbor or Midway videos.
@muzikizfun
@muzikizfun Жыл бұрын
Well, you're partially right and partially wrong. Japan had plenty of pilots, but the ones aboard the aircraft carriers were elite, being skilled, smart, and courageous. When many of them died during the battles of the Coral Sea and Midway, Japan wasn't able to produce the same level of elite flyers that they had before! So they had pilots, but not good ones.

But if they were trapped in WW2 Where would they get the 21st century weapon the gas-turbines aboard the Aegis-equipped cruiser and the Aegis-equipped destroyer? How would they obtaining the needed arms and the Aegis cruiser and destroyer which who would need the various missiles they need to defending the aircraft-carrier from the IJN fleet?

I'm leaning towards agreeing with @AccessAccess. Japan kept losing pilots, & those on the carrier's were the best they had. The longer the war goes on, at that rate of loss, all you'd be left with would be shiny rookies.

My 2nd started sleeping through the night on his first day home from the hospital. By 2-months, my wife had to set an alarm to wake up for his 3AM feeding. Turns out he’s high support autistic. He’s 17 now and still doesn’t speak. The lack of sleep is a trial by fire that every new parent experiences. That 3AM love is some of the most hard fought love you’ll ever experience. Nothing your kids will ever do will challenge your will to be a good parent as much as this. Have you watched “My Neighbor Totoro”? You should. It’s a primer on being a good parent.

Cap: once the youngun hits about 4 or 5 months, it’s time to teach them how to fall asleep by themself. We are doing that this week with our 3rd. It’s not fun, but it’s worth it. Once in bed, after 10 mins of fussing Dad goes in for 1 min of shushing and comfort. Repeat until baby falls asleep. After midnight, baby gets a nappy change, feeding (lights on, keep them awake), a kiss on the cheek, and back in the crib. Takes about 3 days, but doing the work while they’re young is huge.

Very nice, I’m sure you guys may know, I usually argue for our (US) tech is it proven, and this is pretty damn good, I’ve never seen or worked on these, but I worked on the modernized versions of 60-60’s tech at base level, with tons of add ons and modern stuff we had to make all work, together, in reality, day to day, of Vietnam era stuff at base level. That still out performed any Russian, let alone soviet crap. Sure the lost modern soviet stuff can be dangerous…but it’s not good, not against truly modern/upgraded stuff. Some russian stuff that is actually modern/good can be very dangerous…but that’s very, very limited. Anyways, I can see at least 2 of our LRASMS to take out a modern BB of WWII, which at that point they are basically super/fast BB’s in size technology and money poured into making them ultimate killing machine and very, very hard to kill, even close to impossible to kill, if they had a full fleets support as they were designed to have. Hell, our (US) BB’s of the teens and twenties, into early 30’s survived close range atomic, and even nuclear blasts, couldn’t sink them, of not basically a direct hit…and that’s with zero crew/damage control…we tested our atom bombs and limited nukes against our oldest. Moth balled BB’s when the Iowas were still in service, before being refit in modern times…our old ones survived the bombs, as in hundreds of meters to a Km away or so of atomic bombs/thermo nuclear warheads, the old BB’s survived, most other ships types didn’t, and our newer ones were a lot better, in many ways. More armor, or equal thickness, but far better quality for all the steel, whether or not armor. Or just structural, tougher. Stronger, harder steel, all around. Less prone to failure that’s why a while back, in one of your vids, I was like no. No single Russian missile would kill an Iowa, especially as they don’t have true AP warheads, or enough explosive mass, I don’t care of their missiles are big and heavy, their HE isn’t kiloton into megaton range HE. If they hit an Iowa, the BB would laugh at their missile and ship. As it’s made to defeat that weight or greater, of a true AP shell, no just explosive mass. Sure, it’d damage the ship/outer systems, to some extent, but wouldn’t come close to sinking a modern BB, so yeah, at least LRASMS to sink a yamoto class, perfectly viable and believeable, it’d probably take like 4-5 plus to sink, say the Bismarck, or a Yamato, or Iowa, part of it would be determined by how experienced and well trained the AA crews are, as the radar of that time may not see them. But eyes will, at a certain range, so if they are very well trained. Experienced and lucky, they may well spot them coming in, and take one or two, by manual fire/sheer luck, thus increasing the number of missiles needed to kill them. Or they out on a hell of a show, trying to bring down the missiles. Honestly think US crews would stand the best chance, especially late war, as we got very experienced with things trying to crash into us, for obvious reasons, more so than any one else. Not saying we’d succeed, we’d have the best chance, possible, with that eras tech, to knock them down, as only the speed would change. Realistically. Besides no guaranteed fire solutions from fire control. So it’s be down to individual skill and initiatiave, we just the lost experience in those fields, and the relative freedom to do so without being severely punished. As long as it worked. Or you became a hero in doing so, haha.

Beating an enemy aircraft to death with your landing gear DOES have historical precedent; during the Guadalcanal campaign an F-4F Wildcat from the USS Enterprise ran out of ammo during a battle and so he dropped his landing gear, positioned himself above a Japanese bomber and proceeded to beat the crap out of it until something on the Japanese plane broke and it fell out of the sky. Say what you like about the USN, they do put in a good shift when it comes to attacking an enemy....

Cap, if people get pissed with you calling the AIs "AI", you could try calling them "bots". That is how I frequently call video game AI when talking to my Brazilian friends (because it sounds/feels more natural than "AI" in Portuguese), and it probably is more technically accurate than calling them "AI"

Would they sink a battleship? Probably unlikely to get through the belt armour and into the citadel if it doesn’t have an AP warhead. A few could probably mission kill it though by taking out the command and control facilities in the superstructure.

CAP I found something I don’t know if it’s ridiculous or amazing but I found something there is a German battleship class the H-44 it had 20 inch guns it was 345 m in length and it’s displacement was 131,000 tons or 129,000 long tons it would be the biggest battleship at the time. maybe even bigger than the Nimitz class aircraft carrier?

Hey GR, suggestion for a video here, try doing a US CSG performing a strike on a Chinese man made island. The first part would be a CAP flight of F-35 and F-18 against land based J-11 and J-16, if you can; then there would be F-35 SEAD with AGM-88G, and lastly a strike by Tomahawks to knock out remaining installations. Also, remember that the J-11 does not currently have the PL-15 integrated, if you choose to use that.

How come the IJN isn't trying to shoot down the missiles?....normally the Ships would fire everything and get a few missiles as in the Battleship vs Missile videos. Of course it would be highly ineffective but with the sheer number of 25mm AA guns and 5 Inch Cannons with Time fused HE shells in that fleet some missiles would be downed

Wondering why the first missile wave was not automatic? After that manual aiming makes more sense, because there are so many ship wrecks... Also wondering if it is possible just to ruin aircraft carriers first. That's only common sense. There is no need to shoot other ships before all aircraft carriers are down.

Why are the f35s fire ring the LRASM’s from so close ! It has enormous range
@xsekani8350
@xsekani8350 Жыл бұрын
In this specific scenario the F-35s had to guide the LRASMs in one-by-one using their electro-optical systems.. so targets needed to be in range of that, you want reduced LRASM flight time to reduce loiter time / fire the next LRASM and be done before a jet's fuel is up. DCS target deconfliction issues, yay - hopefully ED will get around to model some more modern systems of all sorts sooner rather than later.
