Those two should play a 6 game match of 5 minute blitz games, that would be awesome. I hope Peter will not take this loss too badly. It's really been a pleasure having both Peter and Alexander comentating on the WC match, keep up the good work @chess24👍

Svidler is probably the GM which likes Chess the most. I remember him playing against Carlsen and playing till the end instead of resigning so everyone can see the beautiful mate.

its funny how they are both so critical towards themselves, each in his own unique style and fashion. yet they are among the top 10 chess players in the world. super strong and admired public figures. i really enjoy seeing this mixture of human-humble-critical people. that was great!

I think that's the only way you realistically get to this level, by being super critical and by being unhappy unless you're playing the absolute best move every time. Still very interesting to see though!

@@lucacalabrese5725 Grischuk is 9th in the world, Svidler is currently 21st but was in the top 10 as recently as this year. They've both been top 5 in the world on multiple occassions too.

It reminds me of The Master Game on the BBC in the 70s and 80s when they had top chess players play each other and give comments on their moves, though in that case the comments were added later but put in as if made at the time.

That was good to have simultaneous commentary, My suggestion, though, is to put each in their own audio channel. Left for Grishuk, Right for Svidler (for example).

Yes this was awesome. it would be great to make a format out of that idea. Where we can see some of the great chess24 gm's playing each other in a relaxed and slight competetive background. because this is all the usual chess tournaments lack on for being fun to watch, right? Also i want to compliment grischuk and svidler for their already great work and entartining matches

Peter - This is nowhere near as horrible as I expected this position to be. Objectively, I am probably even okay. *Gets checkmated after 2 moves. hahahhahaha Sasha - " I am happy as an elephant." XD Thank you chess24. Looking forward to more matches between Sasha and Peter.

I'm not on headphones at the moment, but it would be cool if they hard-panned one player's audio left and the other right so you can choose which commentary to follow by listening to one stereo chanel or the other... Maybe this was done already, but if not, perhaps a good suggestion?

This is why I love Russian Chess. Two insanely talented GMs. ( Big Grischuk fan) who approach the game with humour, perspective and humility. Svidler is an analytical giant, his knowledge of Ruy Lopez jungles is prolific.

Solution to audio problem when 2 people talk at the same time could be to schedule/allocate chunks to both. Maybe 15 seconds. Starting with white, etc. They should have a sign when they are supposed to talk/not, by software. Easier solution is to talk only when it's opponent's move. Downside is smaller chunks, interrupted by moves. Perfect for slower games, won't work under 5 minutes? (Easy to remember because, from OTB experience, it is natural to distract the opponent by talking while he thinks, never the opposite :D )

Grischuk is silent killer in chess ! look how calm and quietly he checkmated Peter while Peter was sighing every little now and then, well its possibly he were wearing a jacket and his necktie was tied a bit harder than usual ! ha ha ! just kidding, even i was sighing by feeling the gravity of the game. so hard to beat Grischuk , look how hard Peter tried to beat him. both of them are my favorite chess GMs though.

sonic powerr - “calm and quiet” doesnt make for the best commentating though, as entertaining as Grischuk is. Peter conveyed much more info to the viewers while simultaneously playing at a high level.

@@Wishwader shouldn't Peter had to consider who he was playing with?! HIs opponent wasn't any ordinary banter blitz premium player. Grishchuk is one hell of a Super GM! (2810 peak rated player, no joke) on the contrary look how seriously Grishchuk took his opponent, was talking less yet explained most moves briefly and played brilliantly! Peter should have focused a bit more on the game instead of explaining every now and then.

Good game, but I don't think they can hear each other--both speaking at the same time, lol. Poor Alexander, (don't know what else ro say) getting drown out by Peters' strong voice. Please take more time GM Svidler, it's hard to do all that involving 1 and in this special shared banter blitz (at least 5 min) match, with 2 commentators too-- to consider that-- however possible -- and not be short on time. I'd sure appreciate it and you definitely deserve it, while teaching us and him teaching too us. Maybe an alert/light when the other is speaking or something. Thx.
