What an incredible story and an excellent video production! Extremely well done! Thanks to the legend Ken Onion and the awesome company Work Sharp for everything they have done and continue to do for the knife and sharpening community! I built my little sharpening business just using the Ken Onion sharpener with the blade grinding attachment and what an awesome tool!

Great story! I had no idea how Ken he got his start. My first Ken Onion design was the Kershaw Scallion I bought over 15 yrs ago, then the Clash and they both still perform flawlessly.

Ken is an awesome individual. I bought my Blur while I was living in North Carolina and it was my first “big boy” knife. It’s been in my pocket for a lot of big times in my life, to include the birth of my son. Thank you guys for sharing this.

I love that y'all did this. I wish there was a way we could preserve the stories of all of the generations of knife makers. So much history that gets lost of or forgotten in old trade magazines

Yup, the real deal. I bought my first leek at Virgils in Glendale; my first WS KO at Nordic Knives in Solvang. They're both within reach as I write. Thx (and cool video, team)

Good to see ya Ken! I got a kick out of the Castle nut story. I had an Archery shop in Killen Tx. back at the beginning of the Gulf war. I kept getting reports of hummers, bradleys, Abrams getting hit with RPG's. A communications officer was a customer nd and I set him down and give him my take on a cure. Using D2 or 154-cm to make a see thru cage around the vehicle that resembled a venetian blind on windows space fairly close would sherad the casing of the rpg round and render it useless. But at the same time easily seen thru by the crew. Well, he submitted my idea and in a few months they were all over vehicles over there. Never go any credit or even so much as a thank you. Never saw him again for that matter. A little like your story with Kershaw, I was taken in by the Loveless shop and they went so far as to design a logo for me for the Loveless authorized Loveless Connection Knives. A lot of higher end collectors didn't like it one bit. Mr. Bod didn't care. What they didn't know and we were keeping very quiet that I was being groomed to continue Loveless knives. Mr. Bob was burnt out and Jimbo was only able to work one day a week. Jim had a spare room and I was to live there and work the Loveless Shop on his other days off. Sadly, my Wife became very Ill with an incurable Genetic Disease and I could not move to Cali. and Texas took care of Her huge medical bills. They were in the 6 figures after only the first month and there was no end in sight. I feel terrible that I had to bow out of the Loveless plans. Very ashamed and feel guilty over it. Worse, the State made me close my shop doors saying that If I made money they would drop her care and I knew without it, shew would die rather quickly and painfully. Some of these fine dealers and collectors advised me to leave my Wife as they wanted the profits I could generate for them. What kind of man leaves family in their wors time in their life. Scared adn dying. A greedy coward! So we now live in near poverty, and I would make the same decision again. Now you know why I disappeared. Very few know. I learned that a few collector/dealers said I must of quit because The Loveless Knives didn't sell. Hell, when I shut the doors I ha over 10 years of orders on the books totaling a LOT of money. But I never did it for money. I made the Knives because I loved it! KnifeMaker/Forced into Retirement after over 47+ Years in the Craft and in association with the Original R.W. Loveless Shop

@@WorkSharpOutdoor I am loving the new sharpener! I took an old dull kitchen knife and made it hair popping sharp in my first attempt at using it. Do you sell those work mats that I’m seeing on all of the videos from influencers that got the sharpener pre launch? They would be handy!
