This thing is freaking great. I’m a master sharpener after 10 minutes of YT training, and I’m putting a razor edge on everything from my Benchmade to souvenir knives I got 30 years ago!

Hello, please I have a question? Am I wrong when I say that e.g. 20 degrees set on the sharpener is a different angle for a knife with a blade width of e.g. 4cm compared to a knife with a blade of e.g. 2cm?🧐

These are sweet sharpeners. I can’t get my Microtech to keep an edge however. Maybe my technique is inconsistent. These videos help.

I think this is the best tool ever for sharpening a knife if you take knife sharpening a bit more serious. The only complaint i have is... this tool is saadly constructed only for right handed people as far as i know. As soon as there is a left handed version im gona buy the hell out of the produkt....😅

For freehand this bench Stone works amazingly well. Although I wish they would come out with a 1200 grit before jumping on the ceramic. Instead of going from 600 grit to ceramic. But get an absolute mirror edge with this system coupled with Bark River CBN emotions on four leather strops. Starting with 4 micron, 2 micron, one micron, and ending with 0.5 micron. Which is 4000 grit, 8000 grit, 16000 grit, and 32,000 grit.

I am setting the angle with the rod perpendicular to the blade. That angle changes as I move up and down the blade, correct? How to compensate (if necessary)?

I've had this product for about a week now and have had varying results. So far, I find that the blade angle changes when you swap side to side. While sharpening, if you do not check the angle of your guide rod, you will have different angles along each side of your knife. The angles on the stand aren't even close when I use the digital calibration tool. All in all, for 300 dollars I would have been better off buying a wet stone kit. This product is a gimmicky and not worth the money.

Thanks for this video, the instructions did come rolled up inside, I found them once I figured how to access the inside! The instructions were roiled up so tighly and help together so that trying to unroll then they tore so bad they were useless.

Do I need to unfasten a screw in order to remove the angle guide? There’s a T20 towards the motor that looks like it’s securing it.

I don’t understand why you need to stop the blade at the tip?
@TheBruinspride12311 күн бұрын
If you follow the tip of the blade all the way through instead of stopping when it's in the middle of the belt you'll round the tip of your knife

These directions stink, WorkSharp seems to be on repeat. You can sum it up in one sentence. This is how you do it once that is done then your done! What about the nuance? Show more detail on what a bur looks like, is there anything as an OVER bur? What do you do if you sharpen too much on one side! Give us some more camera angels, your the manufacture! I can guarantee this will get more popular, and maybe those of us that have this device can use it to the full potential. YOU HAVE THE Power of video! Show examples not just reading a teleprompter and showing images. your not showing a book, makes something new people can use! I have had a work sharp for a very long time now and this video is not very useful. STOP RUSHING and help the average person get a razor edge!

I keep asking and will continue until you tell me to go away, lol WHAT ABOUT WOODCARVING KNIVES AND GOUGES The Ken Onion Sharpener may be an overkill but it should do the job fast and in many cases woodcarvers like reshape their knives and change the thickness of the blades. Thank you 😊

You lost me around 16:40 with "...more Molly Bednam? Uh, which I don't exactly know what that is..." That's molybdenum (muh-LIB-de-num), often shortened to moly, as in "chrome-moly steel," and you should know what that is, if you dare to make a video (representing your company) about sharpening steel containing it. Seriously. I'm out.

I have over heated a couple of (really cheap and bad) knives. Six-Star knife set, I’m looking at you. It would be nice to mention something about quenching the blade in water once in a while. There is a lot of friction when sharpening with a belt. It’s not necessary with all sharpening tasks, but it is something that could benefit some people who may not have ever thought of quenching their knives.
@ThatMetalheadguy66614 күн бұрын
You would probably want to be careful if you choose to do that. You might accidentally cause some unwanted issues by quenching it in water. It might be best just to let it cool down by itself before continuing to sharpen.
@fakebobbyhill29614 күн бұрын
@@ThatMetalheadguy666 its not getting red hot and it wouldn’t anneal. Just make sure you dry well because it isn’t a wet sharpening system

Each method seemed to work best for a certain stage of the sharpening. , but not necessarily for all of the stages. Perhaps a combination of techniques would get you closer to the “perfect” edge.
