I'm a huge fan of your videos from across the country in Philadelphia! We have black bear out here, but something about seeing them in Yellowstone is so special.

Just another wonderful video Stan. Love how you frame your shots. Such a pleasure to watch. Moms can be so patient! Is that a Hennessy hammock? I love mine.

Hi Stan, your videos are so informative and entertaining at the same time. I appreciate you show people, they don't have to be afraid of bears if they would adopt the right behavior. I hope your videos will help to prevent bear killing by people, who don't understand the fact, we all share the the same space and we all need to learn how to respect each other.

Good call on setting up your tent next to the raging river. That way you don't hear the bear ripping you to shreds 😊

Travis, you are 100% right about setting up tent right next to a raging creek for more reasons than what you mentioned. I actually moved it after that first night!

@@StanMills I'm actually going to Yellowstone for the first time ever in 2 weeks. Spending 4 days in the Backcountry & can't wait! Love your videos Sir!

Diane, I was just there again today. Just got home. I was snowshoeing. I may put the video out tomorrow. It is one of my favorite places also because I always see a lot of wildlife. I am sorry to hear about your husband passing away. But you have a good idea and you should definitely do that. June is a very good month to go there.

Hi, I was on that same trail on June 22 going into the park boundary and coming out on June 23. The mama bear with the two tiny Cubs in the tree, I'm sure I ran into the same family. Coming out from the ranger outpost hiking up the trail toward the TH as I got up to the top of the hill they were on the right. The mama bear bluff charge me. I had walked up within 40 ft of mom and she sent the Cubs up the tree. Background looks like same area. I back up about 40 ft and mom paced back and forth for awhile then went over to the tree the Cubs were in and called the down and the walked up the hill and out of sight. I did get it several photos of her and the Cubs by the tree they were in. What a surprise to me!

7:38 It is like "The Little House On The Prairie", there are so beautiful in Yellowstone National Park. Not a bad place to have a house or farm, but I guess that's not possible unless you have a work in connection with some management of the park.

Is this the dirt Gravel Road that's off of the main Lamar Valley Road and they have the trail guides horse stables near there?

Gosh Stan ....just missed you...we hiked May 28 thru June 1st....stayed first night at s1 and hiked up to 3rd meadow at 2s6.....so basically saw everything exactly as you did....fantastic place.
@StanMills6 жыл бұрын
How may bear did you see?
@ptgarner16 жыл бұрын
We only saw bear 3 times....a sow and 2 Black bear cubs on the first climb from the parking lot, a mature black bear in the second meadow and what I think was a grizzly high up on the opposite hillside. As you saw the water was everywhere and there were no other backpackers. We packed all the way to 2s6 in the third meadow.
@StanMills6 жыл бұрын
You probably saw the same mother and Cubs I did. Was there a brown cub and a black cub?
@ptgarner16 жыл бұрын
no both were black....and not much bigger than a cantaloupe. they were on the flat top after the initial climb up....before going down into the 1st meadow.
@StanMills6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I saw them also in about the same place. They are in my video.

Not sure I've heard a bear growl. Do you have a video with one on it. I have heard coyote, wolf, and lynx (now THAT is a scary sound!!).And what was that bird call next to the lake? I love your videos. Am going back from your first and working my way to the current ones. These are so appreciated! But you know that. Take care!🙂

Susan, thank you for all your nice comments. Watch my video called “The Thunderer I Yellowstone National Park”. That one has the sound of a bear running. Any time you hear that sound, watch out.

Another beautiful video, and example of how you can be in nature without being obtrusive to your surroundings. If possible, I would love to be in touch to ask you some questions for a project I want to do and article I want to write. (See my comment on your previous video.)

Wow I have never seen white tail deer in YS
@edwardjones96314 жыл бұрын
Travis Walsh ...You're right! I had the same surprise! His videos often reveal the white-tail deer there! Usually 2 to 3 does or 1 buck, don't know why they are not in herds?

The Indians must have really hated it when they got kicked out of this country. They can come visit it whenever they want though.

Hi Stan, this was the most amazing video I have ever seen on here. I loved seeing the bears and the awesome views, I felt like I was right there. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I just subbed to your channel and am looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Thank you for your nice comments. This time of year (winter) I don't make many videos because all the bear are hibernating. I still hike every week but without seeing a bear I think the video is really boring so I don't bother putting them on youTube. Hopefully in about 9 weeks I will start to see bear signs again. But on a positive note; right now the weather is kind of mild so there is a chance of seeing a bear or bear signs even now; and that would be great. Thanks again for your comments.

Stan Mills Hey Stan, I’m a 55 year old retired LEO who shoots wildlife photography. I’m planning on spending most of 2020 in my motorhome in the Greater Yellowstone area hiking and backpacking most everyday. I’m interested in networking with other local outdoorsman wildlife photographers, videographers and KZfaqrs to hopefully get to know and occasionally hike/backpack with in Bear-country! I’m gonna be there from April to November 2020 and if all goes well I will eventually look into buying a place as well. Could you please email me your email address so I can contact you when I get there please. The only other outdoorsman I’ve been talking to is Todd Orr a Survivor of a double Grizzly Bear attack who lives in Bozeman Montana. Thanks, Gunner Peterson 619-733-3381cell ericgunnerpeterson@gmail.com
