I love vice city. It has one of the best maps of all the games combined and the 80s atmosphere was done perfectly.

Actually I played it on my old PS2 yesterday. I think I'm lucky because I've got my PS2 in 2003 when I was 5 years old and I'm still using it😊

No man the Orange atmosphere on PC is still present just enable "Trails" on the options screen and you'll get the effect back but I recommend downloading "Sharp Trails" as the original trails can give you a headache

It can't be enabled normally you need to install mods, silent patch adds it iirc

@@BrickmanZero Mine was just a cracked version 1.0 and it had trails but it wasnt very playable due to vsync for some reason not working i was getting 130fps

@@HUNK_TZ i also have that version, trails isnt an option for me but sometimes the people who pirate the games will leave the trails.asi file in the game so some cracked versions do have it because i remember it being default trails on pc.

PS2 Vice City is so much better than on PC, but I didn't use the SkyGFX. All I needed was VCS Weather and VCS ENB complete with other PS2 stuff to make it more alive... and 80's.

It's probably the *best* version of the game. Had all the nice graphical improvements of later releases (improved lighting, reflections, and character models) but lacked the bugs and missing features of the later releases. If you think about it, the original XBox versions of GTA III, VC, and San Andreas are the real "definitive" editions.

Best Version! So nostalgic. Miss waking up early in the morning, grabbing a 7-Up or Seagram's Ginger Ale, then heading down to my cigarette and piss odored basement to open up Stick Pivot, Roblox, Call of Duty 2, Quake 2, D-Day Normandy, and VICE CITY.

I played all of the 3D-era GTA games on the PS2 when they originally released. I still play them today on PC. This will be considered blasphemy to most GTA fans, but I was actually happy about the removal of the 'orange haze atmosphere' from Vice City and San Andreas in later releases. While most thought this thick orange color filter added to the atmosphere of the game, I thought it made the overall visual presentation look very ugly and messy. I actually prefer the more 'clean' visuals of all later ports of Vice City and San Andreas. The overall visual presentation just looks much more 'clean' and crisp to me personally. Also, side-note: what are people even talking about with "The orange haze adds to the immersive atmosphere." No, no it doesn't. If you go to Miami or Los Angeles, there is not a thick orange haze surrounding you. The air in front of your face is not orange. The exaggerated orange color filter never added to the atmosphere of Vice City or San Andreas. It just made the games look ugly and messy.

I was close to playing Vice City on the PS2 but the guy sold us a bad disc so when my brother started the game as I watched the disc broke and the game crashed so we restarted it and it kept happening so we just got angry.
