A marvelous garden. If you look close enough you can see another tribute to Wilhelmina Jacoba Moussault-Ruys, better known as Mien Ruys. The prolifically creative busy bees of Dutch gardening like Piet Ouldof have carried the influence of Mien Ruys far and wide, from the Pensthorpe Nature reserve in Norfolk, U.K. to the High Line in New York City and the Lurie Garden in Chicago, IL. Look at the pond in this garden and compare it to the pond in the Tuinen Mien Ruys in the Dutch town of Dedemsvaart, and tell me what you see. When will someone finally write the definitive work (with an english translation, please) on the landscapes and gardens of Mien Ruys? Again, hats off to the designers of this garden, it's an inspiration to do better in our own gardens.
