Nice! The manual actually suggests a different setup for triplets: 08 - 08 - 08 - 00, which skips every fourth row. I guess the idea is to keep the notes aligned a bit better across phrases when playing notes (less important if used for hi hats or similar).

The math is actually the exact same, but the implementation might depend on the use case. If you want entire phrases of triplet eighth notes, I prefer it this way. Since all 12 triplets fill the phrase, having to account for blank rows would be a pain. If you, however, want to implement triplet fills momentarily at the end of a phrase (i.e. mixing grooves within a single phrase), the method suggested in the manual would be the right approach.

nice tutorial. when you showed the triplets groove, all I could think was "holy, that's New Error by Moderat". TIL. I could see using "grooves" with "tables" for some pretty cool arpeggiator effects.
@monsterlogostudios2 жыл бұрын
Haha, yeah. I’m just now diving into Tables. Putting together some neat ideas, but Tables are def the way to take M8 composition to the next level.

Thank you! Making UKG is very difficult without swing.

Ask any questions here, or in the official M8 discord. I’m no expert, but maybe we can figure it out together.

Is it possible to “nudge” a kick drum, or snare, off the grid with the M8, other than using the groove pool, or can this only be done with the groove pool feature?
@monsterlogostudios Жыл бұрын
Absolutely! There is a DEL (Delay) sequencer FX command that allows you to “nudge” notes by the specified number of ticks.
