Thank you for watching Dan the Bug Man. I post all kinds of pest control and bed bug videos like this. Please Subscribe to my channel to see weekly videos about my life as a pest control exterminator in Kentucky.
My Pest Control Company: catchypestsolutions.com servicing Asheville, North Carolina.
Here's a little more about this video. This customer called us to do a bed bug treatment at their home. The individual that is living here is very old and is mentally/physically unwell. Unfortunately, bed bugs have found their way into this home and have been feeding on this customer for a very long time. This pest infestation is definitely very bad! I am treating the home with liquid chemicals to kill the bed bugs. This treatment took me about 2 hours to complete. We will be going back to this home for the next 3-4 months to make sure the bed bugs are exterminated.
Let me know if you have ever seen a bed bug. They are very specialized pests. Most people know nothing about bed bugs, but I believe they are one of the most important pest species we have to deal with

I will say this is reckless as heck. If someone buys a product on your recommendation and does not read the label and injures or kills someone than you have opened yourself up to a huge liability. Is it really worth potentially getting sued for recommending a product that requires someone to be state registered to use just to make a few dollars?

So as a former Pest Management professional who was state certified in four states I feel like I need to point some things out. #1) Proper PPE, you need to be wearing LONG sleeves and not have any exposed skin when spraying chemicals with you B&G Sprayer, pesticides can be absorbed through the skin very easily. #2) You need to be wearing a respirator when spraying liquid pesticides, at the 3:16 mark when you are spraying up the side of the chair you can see liquid bloom in all directions, you are breathing in small amounts of that. #3) Safety Goggles, again when spraying liquid pesticides with you B&G water vapor can easily be absorbed through the eyes and into the body. We had a saying where I worked, THE LABEL IS THE LAW! Read the label and it will tell you what PPE is required. I am not trying to be mean brother, I just want you to be safe and not have to deal with health issues due to long term exposure to pesticides.

1st off, Your the man, 2nd, you impress me so much thru your videos, 3rd, i once had bed bugs and it was horrible for a month. I cleaned an old mans house and an infected object on a wall fell off and hit me on the head, I didn't know about bed bugs like i do now. I went home and changed my clothes, but by the time i got home they were in my truck, bed, chair from the ones that landed in my hair. I used a product called " Goodnight " and it finally killed them off after 3 cans of it and constant awareness of the swelling bites. When you were spraying the curtains, my testicles shriveled up just watching you and i cringed thinking how many were falling off the top, and in your hair and clothes. the infection you sprayed was the worst i have ever seen or ever imagined. I would of thrown out ALL the furniture and carpet if it was mine. I can't believe you tackled that. You'll make a great Father one day with your Patience's. I'm gonna have nightmares tonight after seeing this ,,,, lol You are a true Bug Man if i ever have seen one ever before. Stay safe Daniel, All the best from, California.

Thank you!!!:) Yeah man. Bed bugs are no joke. They are so unique. They really don’t actively try to move from person to person but inevitably that’s how they get into new houses. It only takes a few to start a new population. Yeah I had dreams and nightmares about them when I first started in this industry but now I guess I’m used to them haha

We used to be infested with them for a long time and we’d get all sorts of stuff to try and get rid of them and nothing was working for the longest time. It was agonizing and stressful but then one day we were able to finally get rid of them. But still even now I have nightmares from time to time and seeing them in videos just makes my skin crawl and itch all over. Another thing is usually can tell or at least assume if it’s a bed bug when I get bit, generally they will bite in lines of multiple bites and the bites are usually all miscellaneous in shape and size, and then when I get bit and it’s just a bump rather than a weird Welch or something that’s how I can usually tell

Bed bugs hide in cracks and crevice's so they are behind the floor molding, in the electric sockets, etc. They ONLY way to get rid of a Bed Bug infestation is to properly treat the entire house. If you miss just a few the infestation will only come back.

Where is your company located? I was in the industry for a decade and was state certified in four states. I was the guy they sent in to solve difficult cases that the rank and file techs could not deal with. There was an apartment that had been treated 16 times and the bed bugs kept coming back, they sent me out and I solved it in one treatment. I worked in some of the worst areas of DC and Baltimore and have seen bed bug infestations 100x worse than this. I wouldn't mind visiting you and doing some training with you so you could take on those jobs with confidence that you can solve these issues.

I am about finished with my first bedbug kill and treatment. I am seriously sensitive to the bites so I discovered them very quickly. I went into overdrive mode and treated everything like it was a major infestation. They literally came in to my home in the grooves in the bottom of my shoes. I left the shoes at the foot of my bed like every night and poof I have bed bugs! The only nesting area was a foot from the shoes and a foot from The bottom of the bed in a bed sheet my dog took out of the laundry basket and drug there. Knock on wood. I think I have most of them. No sign on mattresses or metal bed or pillows. But I steamed everything, sprayed everything, walls and baseboards and inside behind switch plates, under all dressers and drawers and picture frames. And I will do it all over again in about a month. So far nothing showing up in traps. I think I did the correct thing by overkilling the situation without toxing myself out. Arghhhh! I have so much respect for you doing what you do to help people. I know it’s your job dude, but thank you💛

@@kathleengivant-taylor2277 Throwing the chair away is unnecessary, there is a reason why when treating with chemicals you make multiple visits. The bed bug egg casing, called an ootheca is 100% immune to chemical pesticides. When you spray the first time you kill the adults and juveniles. Typically you schedule the follow up treatment for three weeks because it takes an egg 21 days to hatch so your second treatment is going to kill all the freshly hatched babies.

In 2012 I had a bed bug problem in my apartment. It was a complex wide issue. They had an exterminator come out and spray. After that I threw out my couch, chair and bed. One week later, no results. They had a bed bug sniffing dog come out because management didn't believe I had a problem. The dog never hit on anything but right as soon as they left I found two on the floor next to the foot of my bedframe. I grabbed them, put them in a Ziploc bag and walked to the front office to show them. Two days later they heat treated and the problem was gone. Mentally took a lot longer to return to normal. After getting new furniture I kept checking crevices and cracks.

isn’t that the truth. We had them years back in appt we were in due to roommate bringing them in likely. They are hell to have. Got ride of so much stuff. Appts are notorious for bug problems including roaches which we also experienced in anouther appt we lived in before this one and both are very difficult to eliminate

A was wondering why you dont have much protection on because you are pretty much misting anything & everything. There is definitely alot of back splash happening is that stuff your spraying really that safe man especially since you do this for a living youll be exposed to this way more than the average joe.

Just burn it all down and start over. Spraying chemicals won't do anything

So I am using 3 chemicals for this treatment. But there is one that is doing the majority of the “work” that chemical is crossfire liquid. The other two are kind of supplementary, gentrol and PT alpine flea and bed bug

Please wear a mask during spraying.... just concerned for your well being. Symptoms from chemical sprays may show up down the road as you start ageing.

People need to just throw out their gross furniture and start over. Bed bugs are gross.

@@DanTheBugMan I knew he was old when you said he slept on the recliner. It's easier to get up from them. And then when I saw the infestation I knew. Too bad he didn't know because he was immune to the bites and his eyes were too bad to see them.
