(SPOILERS in the Analysis) I love how in the beginning, all the posters show that his side is the strongest. That he will have backup, and is protected. But in the end he dies like the countless other soldiers. Also who brings a cactus with them to a war zone? Is it a symbol of how humans get comfortable when their not scared, but freak out when we are caught unprepared?

Ça me fait penser au poème "Le dormeur du val" de Rimbaud. J'adore ce poème C'est un trou de verdure où chante une rivière, Accrochant follement aux herbes des haillons D'argent ; où le soleil, de la montagne fière, Luit : c'est un petit val qui mousse de rayons. Un soldat jeune, bouche ouverte, tête nue, Et la nuque baignant dans le frais cresson bleu, Dort ; il est étendu dans l'herbe, sous la nue, Pâle dans son lit vert où la lumière pleut. Les pieds dans les glaïeuls, il dort. Souriant comme Sourirait un enfant malade, il fait un somme : Nature, berce-le chaudement : il a froid. Les parfums ne font pas frissonner sa narine ; Il dort dans le soleil, la main sur sa poitrine, Tranquille. Il a deux trous rouges au côté droit.

Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie, In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields. As the poppie represents the fallen soldiers, i think this poem fits perfectly to the short movie

A soldier steps into a field to find flowers and beautiful scenery, he loves it so much that he got comfy and start setting up in that field. War is just for humans to create a safe heaven, when we won a war, things will be in favor to the winning side. Killed soldiers/enemies turns into flowers and smells nice and so do he.

I think that it refers to the great war because the symbol of this war is the Poppu. Where many soldiers died in fiels, we say that Poppies grew up there so this is the reason why these flowers are represented in this context.

Not only the flower also the color of the soldiers in the mural. The flowers at the end has the colors of both sides.
