This past Groundhog Day, my dad and I went went to our local movie theater because they were showing this movie for the 30th anniversary. My dad was so glad I convinced him. There were a lot of stuff we forgot from this movie. My dad was actually at the diner when they were filming this movie and with that, he got to meet Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, and Andie MacDowell. When the movie was over, they had a short documentary of the making of it. When Stephen Tobolowsky was talking about the audition, he said he gave it all that he got and literally within the first five seconds or so, they knew immediately he was perfect for Ned. They thought to themselves "Oh my god. We basically wrote this part for this guy." They were laughing so hard during the audition they didn't need to see anyone else. Stephen was the first guy to audition for Ned and they knew they had to cast him and not see anyone else because no one could've topped Stephen. And they were right. They right right right right right lol.

That's a satisfying one, to be sure. However, I'm going to go with a different one for my favorite; namely, the one where he rushes up onto Ned, hugs him close, claims that he's been missing Ned, and asks if he can call in sick. Mostly for the fact that he takes the whole overbearing and overly familiar approach schtick Ned uses and crams it right down his throat. Not ten seconds later, he's running for the hills from a taste of his own medicine. THAT ONE, to me, was not only more impressive, but more satisfying to boot.

Stephen Tobolowsky is Ned Ryerson. I saw Groundhog Day recently. Stephen Tobolowsky and Bill Murray acted in Garfield the movie. I used to watch that movie a lot as a kid. Murray was Garfield and Tobolowsky was Happy Chapman. Though seeing Tobolowsky here, i wonder if he ever had hair. He's bald here. I even remember him being bald in Garfield. I didn't watch a lot of his on camera work aside from Garfield when i was a kid. I mostly saw him in animated movies. But he's still pretty funny. Same with Bill Murray.

I did see the commercial, but only because I post something every February 2nd on Facebook that's related to the movie and, after googling, I came across the commercial that way (and it was brilliant!)

I had a friend, I had to block and stop contact with. I'll give an example of much much chaos he caused people. We were at a meetup at Denny's sharing knowledge with our Locksmith Association. There were about 30 of us, and most there ordered food or something. The waitress at the end asks how we would like the bill, "one check or seperate checks?" This Ned character said, "Ill pay it all and everyone will just reimburse me with cash". The waitress happily took that answer and went back to print up the one check. The treasurer of the association told him off saying he knew why he wanted to do that, "because you want the rewards". Pointing others he said, "Maybe he wants the rewards, or he wants the rewards, or I want the rewards! I'll tell you what, I will do it this time, but don't try this again!" This annoying Ned said, "Okay, Okay, thanks! No problem ehh, ehh". I'm just rolling my eyes at the treasurer, and said, "WTF!" So this Ned guy is going around the table with the receipt asking who ordered what and getting the totals with a calculator with the amounts plus sales tax for everyone. He gets 1/2 around the table and people start clearing out to the parking lot to chat and he starts to panick thinking he's going to get stiffed. He forgets who paid him and who did not, so he starts interrogating people, "Did you pay?" "Did you pay?" "Did you pay?" as he starts asking more frantically, and people reply, "dude I paid you!" I look over at the treasurer and said, "look at the chaos he created for himself!", as we shake our heads. He finally tracked down one person who was so annoyed with him he purposely made him work for his reward. Months, maybe a year later I was texting him and he made me explain a rhetoracle question. He said "how much?" for a job I was going to give him, and I said, "65", he texts back ">>>$

Lol that first step around that street corner sure was a doozy also. Great actors both of them, Bill Murray is brilliant (and really funny) at his intrinsic little subtleties, and credit to Stephen Tobolowsky for his acting too as it's probably not as easy to play an exceptionally irritating character as it seems.

Ned became very successful after this event. He eventually led many companies though their startup stage, but he changed his name to “Action” Jack Barker.
