Yoga With Adriene

7 жыл бұрын

This yoga practice guides you through a series of poses to balance the root chakra and cultivate grounding with gratitude. When the root chakra, or Muladhara, is out of balance a person can feel anxious, uneasy, fearful, worried and stressed. This can lead to low energy and low immunity and an overall sense of instability. Use the tools of yoga to strengthen and balance to the root chakra, the foundation of all the other chakras. Cultivate self love, stability, and sense of security. You are worthy and deserving. Remind yourself, you are awesome and you are supported!
Take good care of yourself so you can take good care of others. Let me know how it goes down below. Namaste.

I notice several times throughout this practice you would say or do something cute and silly and then respond to yourself with "Stop it Adriene." I just wanted to say that you shouldn't feel like you need to censor yourself here. You are such a joy to literally millions of people. Please don't reproach yourself for having a little fun or being a little silly. This is your channel, your practice, a warm place you have created. You have every right to be silly and have fun here. It is one of the best things about the practice you offer all of us. You set us free of fear when you are unashamed and fun loving. If in anyway this community has made you feel differently I apologize on the behalf of all of us. Please don't forget that your joy is deeply important. Especially when caring for and serving as many people as you do. Please be gentle with yourself. We love you.

I agree 100%! Today was my first time practicing this video & when I heard you say 'stop it' my initial reaction was "be kind to yourself". Which, then, was a reminder in & of itself that sometimes we all need a reminder to be kind to ourselves. It's a shame... We are taught to be hard on ourselves instead of being taught to just be ourselves. And to love ourselves as we are. ❤️❤️❤️

As an Indian I am so happy that Adriene says ‘chakra’ with the right sound as in ‘channel’ and NOT as in ‘Chicago’ or ‘shark’. And every other Sanskrit word/phrase - absolutely accurate in terms of sound. This is very important as sounds in Sanskrit are important in terms of frequencies.

This practice made me cry. I have been so stuck recently between anxiety and depression after a spiritual crisis that was triggered by my life circumstances changing too quickly. My marriage fell apart and I lost my dog, my wife and my home and I have only just had a spiritual awakening so I am really raw and new to all of this. When you said to say the mantra, "I am...." I instinctively finished it with "ok." and this triggered a wave of emotion to wash over me. So thank you for the opportunity to experience such catharsis. Huge love to you all.

you've helped me lose 25 pounds and kept me sane. I think what you helped me learn is to love your body. Losing weight for many comes from a mindset of disliking your body, which is actually the complete opposite of what you should think. You should accept yourself each day with unconditional love and do what is in your power to improve.Thank you x 1000 and you rock.

I had to get up real slow from this practice. The effects of this rout chakra sequence left me calm and rather zenned . I followed your words to the letter Adriene and my arthritis was almost pain free, slow and easy, until Warrior One when I needed a little extra care with arms and shoulders. I cannot no way make the heel down yogic squat ( I senior-started my yoga 🤨 ) but I can achieve a steady toe stand 😃👍 .... For my bodily health I am quite aware of my pelvic floor, so I enjoyed this part throughout the sequence, connecting to my core and up the spine to the crown of my head, quite powerful, and ‘strong’ was my mantra today. It is a beautiful bright chilly day here in England and the sky is blue and YWA always overcomes my troubles and keeps me sane, awesome 🙏 see you tomorrow for a little careful core ? 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

I'm doing this over five years after this video was originally posted. It's amazing how much this video affected me so much, despite being in such different times. After COVID lockdowns, I haven't seen my dad for two and a half years as he works abroad. Today is the day he comes home, finally; when Adrienne started speaking about gratitude I completely broke down, but I kept working through the practice and feel like I've rebuilt into gratitude instead of grief for the missed years. I doubt anyone will see this but I hope Adrienne knows how many people she helps, especially by making these videos so accessible for free.

I love the connection between the serious practice, the intention and the lightness and silliness you bring to your videos. Actually laughed out loud when you said "Pooping. Okay I'll say it! I'm not afraid!" because that's the sort of thing that would totally come to my mind, your typical yoga instructor would keep on with the spiritual aspects of the practice and I would try hard to hush my inner silly voice and bring myself back to "serious" practice. But not you Adriene, you acknowledge the human within and by doing so give us moment to laugh, let it out, connect and move on, continue with the practice from a less distracted space. Thank you.

Returning to my practice this morning after a about a month long break. Was going through a big routine change and hadn't yet figured out how to fit this into my life, but after a break down in a walmart parking lot I decided it was time again to return and make a change haha! This was exactly what I needed to restart this journey of keeping myself balanced and nourished. The mantra this morning was not "I am balanced", but "I will be balanced." Meeting myself where I am and moving forward with the help of your November playlist here in a wee town of Southern Ontario

Love the balance exercises, I feel dizzy a lot lately with anxiety flare ups almost every day. When I work on balance and look for my inner support in mindful ways I feel at peace and I am learning to bring that to every aspect of my life, I've used dissociation for too long and am ready to find my path forward. Fun fact: one of my kitty boys has taken up a habit of laying along my torso whenever I lay on the floor on my Yoga mat, makes me laugh and feel loved. I'm still so grateful to Adriene for being here every time I need to find my inner peace again.

@@xroshamariex regular practice and breathing exercises thought the day have done wonders for my anxiety. I have a lot of it so being able the take a second in my head to rebalance myself is one of my first go to tools. Yoga helps me escape all of my thoughts and has taught me how to find ease in even difficult situations. I still get overwhelmed a lot, but that is just how I am, and these techniques have reduced the strain anxiety gives me. Hopefully this can help you too in some way. dear Adriene, I have been now with you for over a year now. I have been through quite a lot since and the journey goes on. As a mom of two very little ones, I usually do yoga with them crawling all over me, specially during the dog pose. Yesterday I did this grounding practice and a lot went on. I have been diagnosed with a burn-out and this felt so right, cause I have been completely disconnected with myself. You share my sense of humor and goofiness, so I love to yoga with you. For everyone reading me, we live in world where we try to make the machines more like humans and the humans more like machines. We humans created this system that is disconnecting us from ourselves and the others so we are the only ones who can change it, one little step at a time. Maybe the next step is getting on the mat. Namaste.

Love your videos and was so happy to find this one today because I want to work on my root Chakra. My daughter is 5 and she decided to join me today. During downward facing dog she goes... 'Mmmm this feels SOOO good.' It was easy to connect with gratitude hearing that from someone so little. Beautiful ❤ Thank you for your work, your energy and your wisdom 🙏

This was just what I needed. I had very anxious dreams last night and woke up out of sorts. So the timing on this video couldn't have been better. I feel more focused and calm. Hoping for a good day now, whereas before I just wanted to curl up in a blanket and disappear on this snowy day in Idaho. Thank you!

Thank you Adriene, from down here in New Zealand. This is the root chakra practice I've been looking for all week! I love your humour, your soul talk, your dog and your pace. I've been practicing yoga for 30 years and you are one of my favourite teachers. BTW when I practice the yogic squat I prop a folded blanket under my heels so I can enjoy both stability and my fullest stretch. Wishing you a joyful thanksgiving day in the US, lots of love and gratitude Namaste PS I like your outfit in this video too

I have to confess that I switched two days in the BALANCE (dec 2021) program because I celebrated my birthday with friends and family yesterday night and didn't felt like doing a 50 minute session today. AND IT WAS PERFECT ! I had the biggest smile on my face the whole practice because Adriene kept asking what we where grateful for, and I was just reliving the party in my mind and being overwhelmed with gratitude for my loved ones. It's crazy because this practice felt so special and just made for this day. I didn't even realized I already did this practice a month ago until I saw my own comment ! Anyway, outpouring love to all of you practicing right now !

This old bird worked so hard yesterday. I'm a musician, one of my instruments is the upright bass...and carrying that thing around is physically exhausting. So I arrived at yoga this morning hoping for some really good stretching. What a perfect practice for me today! I feel grounded, stretched, and ready to face today's challenges. Thank you, Adriene, and thank you Benji for being you.

Greetings from Split, Croatia! My boyfriend is asleep on the couch right next to me, and is completely unbothered by my exhales and your Celine Dion interpretations... I envied his peacefulness right until I started thinking of everything I'm grateful for. It made me realize (once more) what's important and what makes me happy, bringing happy little tears to my face. Thank you Adriene! PS. Yogic squat feels amazing every single time even though I have knee problems, there's something really primal and strong about that posture!

This was my first practice ever on the channel, three years ago. By that time I could only feel grateful for my little niece which everybody loved as she was around one year old. Although today I didsome grounding as lately I've been dealing with difficult people, compared to that time (three years ago) I am much more grounded despite life's twists and turns. It is also interesting that I did not recall the gratitude moment until I heard it again, today and it was an interesting moment as today I am worried about my lovelt little niece as she is growing and love towards her is not unconditional anymore and I am worried that her parents and grand parents are teaching her to disconect from herself to please others. They constantly punish and beguilt her. Thus, today I bowed for her protection. Also, these days I have more things to be grateful for, like my little doggie.
