Apologies if any cars are not featured, as this list is taken from the unofficial Gran Turismo Wiki.

While probably not realistic, the degree to which the game distorts the cars' sounds (or adds things like "chirps" or a gurgle-y effect) when accelerating/going over bumps really added to the sense of speed and overall "visceral" feeling of driving fast cars. It's most noticeable on that Minolta going down the Mulsanne straight.

The one effect that to me ruined the sounds of any cars capable exceeding those speeds in Gt4....

Minolta was King of Group C in GT4 but it ate through tyres like nothing else, you had to get a 30 seconds gap every 5-8 rounds.

I guess that depends on your settings of the car. The C9 is a great car in the game.

@@defnotatroll Maybe our driving style is different. By default settings, I feel that the C9 is more stable than the 88cv. Actually the R89C is the most stable (understeered) to me. I remember when I finally finished setting the LSD, the 88cv becomes much more stable and thus invincible. 😄

I think Sauber C9 is on top 3 fastest GT4 cars (except F1), togheter with R92CP and Minolta. Because who is faster depends on the circuit and the drive style of the person

Yerr the Toyota Minolta on test course with nitrous and with the settings reduce downforce I can't remember what else long time ago played around with gears cracked 500kph there's better records on KZfaq but these cars were so much fun

Dude I always felt that too lol. Especially when you're starting a race on Test Course with a grid start, hearing them rev. Thought I was the only one 😛

For me, Sauber and R92 always felt a bit faster than other group C cars. Mazda, Jag and r89 felt the easiest to drive and Minolta was a game breaker because you could get it so early. Most of them don't reflect the real life success of those cars.

I miss old school Trial mountain it had such good corners that connected to the front straight so you could keep your speed while navigating the corners until the first tunnel where you had to trail brake to slow down enough for the little jump that destabilizes you and the corners through the canyon.

Look how they massacred my boy the Peugeot 905B Evo.. it won the Le Mans in 1992 and 1993, but PD gave it an awful gearbox which made it much less competitive in non-endurance races. It is so friendly on its tires that the fuel gauge reaches empty before the tires are completely dead.

The 905 had to be nerfed in GT4, because IRL it's the fastest Gr. C car ever, by far. With only the Toyota TS010 being it's closer rival. The traditional Gr.C cars like the C9, XJR-9 etc were nothing compared to the 3.5l Gr.C cars.
