Thanks for sharing your family items. It amazes me how now-a-days there are so many excellent choices to choose from. 🌻

It really is amazing! I can’t even imagine past generations doing it without internet (and KZfaq 😆)

I have such a hard time adding art into our school day, since I am not creative at all I dread doing it. We ended up finding a local art studio and head there every other week to get our art class. It’s been a great resource! ☺️

Thank goodness for local artists willing to teach them 😂 It’s sad because I do actually like art, I just feel like we never have time for it. Better to have it as a scheduled class that I’m obligated to attend!

@@RegularSecularMama We are going to do physics and the human body this year so one of those would be amazing! But I'm open to whatever topic so I can see what their boxes look like and hear your impressions. Thanks for making such helpful videos!

I’ve looked at Science Unlocked, there is so little info out there about it currently. Looking forward to what you have to say.

Same here! We have some hardcover composition books that have been ongoing nature journals. I wish I could find them on Amazon, but no luck.

Thank you so much for hosting, Cassie! I definitely relate to zero free time and hardly any motivation for formal art study or poetry study 😅

We did poetry tea time exactly twice this past year 🤦🏻‍♀️ It was beautiful, but my brain is mush but the time we get to it!

We’ve been combining BYOL and US History Quest for the last 6 months and they complement each other very well. I add videos of my own though

Yes to more videos 🙌🏻 What parts of HQUS do you incorporate?

@@RegularSecularMama I use the chapter and History Hop as an introduction and schedule the corresponding BYOL books at the same time. I think this helps in following a coherent time line. Then we go deeper with videos and other books to fill it in more. I also add the more diverse and reference books from BYOL to get more perspectives and highlight important people and events. I also check out other booklists and pick from those the books I know my kids will enjoy. I try VERY hard not to over do it but sometimes we have amazing deep dives if their interests lead us there. But the literature and readers from BYOL are always on target for us

I would love to hear how you combined your 4th grader into US History? Did you change out readers? And how you changed the assignments to be more appropriate for him or did you find them to be fine for him?
