I've been using Erik Cortina's method for seating depth ("don't chase the lands" series on YT), treating the max mag length as jam and working in .003" increments shorter. I found nodes that way for sure.

You should use a hole in your target to zero out your bullet hole width if you want to measure outside to outside: the holes in your target are normally slightly smaller than the bullet itself due to stretching. That said, it's usually a couple hundredths so rarely will it actually matter.

I've change my 308W barrel for a 6.5 Creedmoor, I find it really difficult to get consistent and accurate loads with this caliber (I mean less than 1/2 MOA 5 shots groups consistently at 100m). Sometimes you get small holes thinking that you've find a load, and it doesn't work the next day. 500 shots and still no consistent load, I wanna throw this thing. On all other calibers that I reload, good loads groups between 1/2 and 1/4 MOA @100m (no flyers)

With the carbon wrapped around the bore maybe the surface is cooler, but since carbon doesnt transfer heat as well as steel maybe the heat stays under the carbon layer. I think the barrel heats more than a conventionnal one but you don't see it.

Yeah that limitation to AR10 mags is absolutely why I will never buy a Unitah rifle/upper or a Q Fix rifle.
