Ovens goes bird hunting for the BC Canadian Grouse Grand Slam! All THREE species are nabbed for a delicious Catch & Cook in the bush! Join Greg for his favorite bush meal, cooked to perfection!
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

Dont need the bearded woodsman, trust me, you ARE THE guy to watch, he is a little too high maintenance and not interesting. Love you my friend, keep the videos coming, we are here for you, because you are so humble and sincere and the decency in you shows. The rest are just chasing youtube fame, lol. You're actually living this full time, this is your life 24/7 no breaks. They do a quick weekend get away bushcraft and then rest in luxury, ac, high-speed internet, lattes and video games for three weeks. Night and day, You're the real deal.

you're right bro, watched bearded woodsman's live of the land series thing and it was boring as heck, all they did was eat fish, they would occasionally do some interesting stuff here and there but 80% of the video was eat fish and complain. 30 days challenge was much more interesting.

Hey Greg, do you know how to tell a female grouse from a male, other than plumage or behavior? I used to be a very avid grouse hunter and I would study up on them every chance I had. I always wondered what sex of bird I had brought home. I found out how to definitively tell the sex. Unfortunately the only way to know for certain is after they have been gutted. Once you have cleaned out the intestines, look at the mid-spine area. A male will have two, small, oval, dark organs (one on either side of the spine) left and right of the spine (double the size of a grain of rice). These are the testicles (yes, they are way up inside). A female will have one small, whitish sac on one side of the spine only. Those are her eggs in miniature.I would usually be hunting ruffed grouse or spruce. They can both be sexed the same way. Just thought to pass that along. Keep up the good work!
