Jen, I found your story fascinating. I have been following your amazing growth on Instagram with awe. However, I always knew that if anyone could grow like that, it would be you. I also found it fascinating to learn that the structure of your content follows an age-old storytelling structure, which includes setup, conflict, and resolution. I'd recommend one a day only because the burnout you feel is so strong after 45 days. Doing 2 would make it far more difficult to push through it.

I've been trying to grow my Instagram for a while now and it's been a struggle. I understand engagement is important and you've grown significantly but the engagement on that channel is low. Would you still consider that success for your channel size?

It really depends on the type of monetisation that you’re chasing. Agency clients that are high tier? Maybe 1 in every 30-40k followers, which is A LOT of work compared to potentially other viable channels like networking or outreach etc. In turn for 2-3 figure sales that’s a lot easier in terms of “cost per thousand” and the time input on that. It’s an interesting dynamic between pricing and audience. The other issue is that you’ve very little control over the regions that your content shows. So for example TikTok is banned in India, so when reels go viral they often surge in viewership there, and spending power is typically (but not always) a touch lower compared to an American or European audience for example. There’s a lot of moving pieces.
