So 30 years ago my father had taught me how to take a clipping of a boxwood shrub and grow multiple clones from just one plant in our Greenhouse. One of the problems at the time was boxwood shrubs were really expensive and we needed I believe 50 plants. Dad wanted to show me how to take clippings from an older boxwood that had new growth on it and create new shrubs. The way he did it was to use the clippings, root tone and vermiculite mixed with sand that was moist. I'm going to take a little bit of a different approach to his approach and am going to use soil specifically made for new shrubs and trees along with some organic garden soil. I'm also going to use a trick for my mother-in-law which is to use a potato to further moisten and support the clipping while the roots take. This is an experiment. Remember I haven't done this in 30 something years so things might be right or wrong.
This was being done in early early to mid June 2020
