How to grow apple tree from seeds at home 🍎 growing apple tree from seeds
Take the mature apple. Collect seeds from apple. Test the seeds separately from the apple by dipping them in water. Separate the good seeds. Then plant the seeds in potting soil like me. keep the pot in normal refrigerator 15 days. After 15 days the seeds will germinate. When they mature after 50 to 60 days, replant elsewhere. Apple seeds need cool moist conditions so autumn/fall/ winter is the best time to plant apple seeds. Although you can use the fridge at other times of year to fake the low temperature needed at the star. Thanks for watching.

I wish I could find a good video where someone shows the early growth stage, what grow medium they use, how you fertilize it, when you transplant outside, into growing it into a little tree……… there’s a bunch of these videos but no thorough videos with this information on growing it;

Probably because a 2 year old tree is only like $40 at the store. It takes apple trees a few years to produce fruit so people generally just buy them. Not to mention some of the best apples are hybrids, such as the honey crisp. A honey crisp apples’ seeds will not grow a honey crisp apple tree. Most people who want to wait and grow from a seed are probably going to already have a good idea how to grow them from a seed. I’d recommend buying from a store.

@@christopherwertman125 I commented this 8 months ago lol. For me it didn’t really work but it did sprout a little. I recommend getting a pumpkin and getting like 1 or 2 seeds out of it then put it in some soil because that worked for me and it ended up working!
@halleyevans1980
@halleyevans1980 2 ай бұрын
@@Mizzoux It worked for me the trick is to get the paper towel pretty wet. I just forgot about it in the fridge for a long time, like months and then went and looked and both times they sprouted. I have them planted now and they re doing well. I am not sure how long it will take to get fruit. But some people should know that you can only plant local seeds or you will not get fruit since imported fruit gets treated with some kind of radiation to prevent disease and insects and invasive species not native to where you live. So planting imported fruit seeds will produce a plant but no fruit. So make sure you are planting seeds from a local source. It is sometimes important to stratify your seeds before planting them. Apples and Pears need cold to help them germinate to mimic a winter. Hope this helps.

I am by no means an expert but I have found that when plants are really young they do best in really wet soil, so I personally wouldn’t let it dry out at first (I’m trying to grow cantaloupe and don’t plan to get much from it since I’m starting super early in the year, but the one sprout that I’m keeping in just water, no soil, is doing the best) After a bit I’d slowly start watering less

@ShafikulGarden
@ShafikulGarden 7 ай бұрын
There's a good chance you might get apples from your 5-foot-tall apple tree, but it might take a few more years! Apple trees grown from seeds typically take 4-10 years to bear fruit, with some variations depending on the variety and growing conditions. And if you want to get fruits in 1 to 2 years then you can do grafting. Thanks

However, in general, apple seeds germinate best at temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). What time of the year should one begin this process?
@ShafikulGarden
@ShafikulGarden 7 ай бұрын
Natural Stratification: Plant the seeds directly in the ground in late fall or early winter. This allows them to experience natural chilling temperatures over the winter. Artificial Stratification: This involves placing the seeds in a moist medium and storing them in the refrigerator for 3 - 4 week. This simulates the cold conditions they would experience in the ground. If you choose natural stratification, you should start the process in late fall (November-December) so the seeds experience the full winter chill. If you choose artificial stratification, you can start the process anytime during the year. However, it's best to start in late winter (February-March) so the seeds are ready to be planted in spring.

The ideal temperature for growing seedlings from apple seeds depends on the specific variety of apple and the stage of growth. However, as a general guideline, apple seeds typically germinate best at temperatures between 60-68°F (15.5-20°C). Once the seedlings emerge, they prefer slightly cooler temperatures around 55-60°F (12.8-15.5°C) during the day and slightly cooler at night. It's also important to note that different stages of growth may require different temperatures. For example, during the early growth stages, when the seedling is developing its roots, it may require slightly cooler temperatures than during later stages when it is developing leaves and stems. Overall, maintaining consistent and appropriate temperatures is important for the successful growth of apple seedlings. thanks

@ShafikulGarden
@ShafikulGarden Жыл бұрын
It can take several years for an apple tree to bear fruit from a seed. In general, it can take anywhere from 5 to 10 years or more for an apple tree grown from seed to reach maturity and produce fruit. However, it's important to note that apple trees grown from seed may not produce fruit that is similar to the parent tree. This is because apple trees are often propagated through grafting, where a piece of the desired apple tree is joined with a rootstock to create a new tree. This method ensures that the new tree will produce the same type of fruit as the parent tree. If you want to grow an apple tree that will produce fruit that is similar to the parent tree, it's best to start with a grafted tree rather than planting a seed.
