I miss your old school videos. Breeding shrimp in the tubs was the one that made me subscribe to you and you never finished it, wish you would go back to your roots a bit. Miss your old fish room videos. It’s just not quite the same anymore but you still make great content.

I’m going to give this a try. I hope you’re going to do some more the breeding/raising fry content soon? Personally it’s my favourite content to watch. Although, I still watch all your content, I just enjoy the breeding and raising fry the best. 🐟🐠😊

If you're new at raising fry, divide them into two containers in case something goes wrong. Losing all of them in one night is easier than you think, and a spare gives you another chance.

If you open the container and let some light in, the plants will grow 1000x faster. Light + CO2 = massive growth. Ludwigia will grow a foot or more in about a month after it has new leaves. Open a little at a time. Using the plants you have now, open the top a little for a few days, then within a week keep the cover off all the time and give it defused light. If your plants are struggling put the lid back on a little. Then new plants can be created within weeks. They don't have to adapt to the air.

Do they grow faster in tubs or in aquarium? If youre growing them to sell it might be easier for you to put them in individual pots to start with, that way the roots dont get all tangled together. I also think that sphagnum moss could work well for this, its cleaner to work with and customers wont have to wash soil off the roots before adding the plants to their aquariums. Or maybe even cups with 1 inch of water with rooting hormone/nutrients could work.

Also, i was wondering if u know any Aussie Home growers who have Cuttings of Brucephalandra varieties for Sale at bearable prices please? Also,same question for u? Do u happen to have any juvie Tetra varieties for sale as I’m looking for approximately 50’ish. Same of Barb varieties if possible please? I’m located in Nerang on the GC too. Love to hear back soon please. Cheers. Claire

Is it better to use a clear tank, or opaque tub?
@Banamabolt
@Banamabolt Жыл бұрын
I'd say use a tub with a clear lid, it's easy to move around and affordable.
@chia_pet7121
@chia_pet7121 Жыл бұрын
@@Banamabolt didn't know if the opaque sides reflected the 'soft white' type light. Not sure what the light requirements would be for terrestrial planting vs submerged.
@Banamabolt
@Banamabolt Жыл бұрын
@@chia_pet7121 I think it would be better to have opaque sides as it might trap in some of the light verses a clear tub? As for lighting, they say somewhere between a kelvin range between 5000 and 7000 mimics daylight settings but I have grown emersed plants between 2000 - 3500k. There is a guy called Aquarium Plant Lab who has done a video similar to Nick's emersed tub setup. The information provided is very detailed as he explains the reasoning behind his setup and methods. I'm gonna try out the LED lights he uses which have a colour temp of 2900k and a brightness of 1800 lumens.

This could be useful for growing new plants quickly, but when these plants are introduced to an aquarium the leaves will melt away and it'll take some time to regrow them.
@jeevaengg
@jeevaengg 10 ай бұрын
is that fact or assumption?
@Aaron_Mullins
@Aaron_Mullins 10 ай бұрын
@@jeevaengg fact. it's called melting or converting. The plants will produce different leaves when grown submerged vs emerged. When the plant is moved from emersed to submerged those leaves will die off and the appropriate ones will grow in their place. Typically underwater leaves are a lot more narrow and flexible.
