Hello, Great video, well thank you. About 2 weeks ago, I planted the tuber in the soil. I already have two green leaves and 3 emerging leaves. I found that I only have 6 cm of soil. Is it not enough? Can I still add soil now so that there is about 10 cm of soil? Won't I damage the lotus? Above the soil, but under the water, I see thin roots. Should they be in the soil?

Planting a tuber in cold winter may lead to entire tuber rot... However if you are staying in tropics then you can plant anytime of the year...

Don't worry, lotus is a very much heat resistant plant... Still if you wish, can wrap the plant's container with sackcloth or similar materials...

You can float the tuber for a week or so until a coin leaf appears and then plant it...

How can i keep the tuber and runner in water for a week without damage? You said there is some drawbacks for this method for beginners. I will get tub and soil only after a week that's y. What to do

You can float the tubers as long as you want... But it's best to plant only when a coin leaf is visible on the tuber...sometimes it takes three to four days for a new coin leaf to sprout... Again sometimes it takes some more time for the tuber to get activated with a new coin leaf... There is no hard and fast rule... In the end I would still prefer not to float the tubers for long...

You might have put excessive manures or compost on soil mix...also not all seeds are that healthy enough to be sustained... Many seeds rot after a little initial growth... There are still many more factors behind seedling rotting... Could you please let me know what have you used on ur potting mix?

I don't use any extra fertilizer at all... instead I take care of properly preparing the potting mix...

Yes you can skip if the tubers are very healthy and sturdy...

It's okay if you float the tuber for three to four days or a week until you see a small leaf... simultaneously you'll get to see some small roots also growing...

@@chetnajain3435 If lotus plant is grown from seeds, then its really uncertain about the blooming period... Sometimes it takes less than two months to flower... sometimes it may even take two to three years to flower... Very much uncertain!

If you amend the soil with vermi compost and bone dust, then extra fertilization is not at all required... I never use any extra fertilizer...

It's very unpredictable... if you grow a plant from seed, flowering may take place in a month or a few months or a few years even... It's best to grow a lotus plant from tubers of a flowering plant...there are hundreds of hybrid lotus varieties available nowadays...

Same thing... There are many lotuses that produces tasty rhizomes(those sold as kamal Ki kakdi in market) and some produces bitter or tasteless rhizomes but all are edible!
