In this video I have tried to demonstrate how to prepare potting medium for growing lotus, in absence of pond clay. In my opinion lotus thrives best in pond or pond clay, but it is not possible for many plant enthusiast to collect pond clay, so I have shared my experience of growing lotuses without pond clay... Two types of potting medium is demonstrated in this video...

Thank you... Micro lotus could be grown in even four to six inch diameter container with two to three inches depth ... Bowl lotus in 10"-12" dia, 6" depth... Medium lotus in 15"-18"dia and around 10" depth... Large variety lotus grows well in 24"-36" dia with 12" depth container... Some medium to large cultivars are potent enough to grow even in smaller containers...

@@artnatureblisswithani6650 seeds theke gach. ছাদে অল্প জায়গা। 2 টো টব যদি বসাই একটু সমস্যা হয়ে যাবে। কত ইঞ্চির টব লাগবে মিনিমাম? যদি 10-12 ইঞ্চিতে হয়ে যায় তাহলে 2 টোই নেবো।

How often we need to add fertilizer? How to add it ? What fertilizer need to add?

If the potting mix is properly prepared then extra fertilizer is often not required until the first shower of flowers... If you feel the plant is not that healthy then you can add NPK 19:19:19 in little amount... Maybe one teaspoon divided into three parts, wrapped in newspaper and shoved inside the clay at three spots...apply it once in a fortnight.

You can simply try without bonemeal and observe how the plant reacts... If you have really fertile black clay loam, then you don't have to use much fertilizers as well! I have some experience, when I used pond clay ,I didn't have to use anything else with it... It's true not all pond clay gives good results. If a pond is polluted with harmful chemicals, then collecting clay from such a pond is useless too!
