@@jamielovinitt actually starting it in water with a tooth pick on an angle both sides will keep root end in the water like a yo plait cup make sure to add water as seed uses it don't dry seed out..and you have a root in about 5-6 days and then to good rooting soil and keep it warm= I use a veggie bag from when I bring groceries home plant seed carefully, sprinkle with really warm water and cover quickly with the plastic bag- twist edges of bag around your finger and tuck around rim... makes a great hot house in about 4 days sprinkle really warm water again so you feel soil is damp recover and keep it warm...few days you will have a 3-4 inch tree...some other types may take a little longer or if it was greener.. ours come from Calif. and Mexico so grow quickly have 12...great gifts to some one who will care for it

Hi I’m Kiet, I’m twelves years old and I love your vids. I love planting fruit and this helped a lot. So when I got my mango it had a little shoot already we’ll not really, it’s was this ball and i didn’t really know what to do so I planted it straight away and that’s the proper way I think, because after 4 days it started growing. Thank you very much for this vid! 👍

Thank you so much for the tips! I found this so cool and useful. I’m huge on recycling & up-cycling everything around me. I live in New England where mangoes aren’t typically grown. My mom owns a lemon tree, a Meyer lemon tree, & an orange tree, all growing excellent in pots here in chilly Massachusetts! I have faith that my little mango seed will grow in due time; & if not I will try again until I have success!! Thank you so much for making this video. I’m going to share & make a blog post about your video on my tumblr. So helpful !!! Thank you again 🙏🏻

just doing my 12th.. easy to open if you let it dry even just a couple of hours wrap the seed in cloth he forgot to mention so seed doesn't slip and you can cut your self.. brown coat means nothing... I use tooth picks and put one through on a bit of an angle not on the roundest end...then also put tooth pick on opposite side on slight angle fill a yo plait container or something small like that with cold water put pit in round side down in water...tooth picks keep the root in water and won't sink should be about 1/4 or less above water...==when I say round look at it and you will see where a root is going to sprout that should be in water.. every 2 days run cold water in container about 5-6 days you will see root, let it grow to about 2 inches or more.. I always use root hormone for mangoes and avocados which I do exactly the same way=== wet and dip root in hormone if you have- makes a strong tree- but not necessary..put carefully in peat, rooting soil or what ever you have that you use to plant plants= as one that is moist ,seed doesn't care== moist not soaking and when I add water I add really warm sprinkles with my fingers to put heat in ...cover with a veggie plastic bag from the store - if bigger than your pot twist the bag around your finger and tuck it in... this is your hot house- keep some where warm, 3 days sprinkles of really warm water recover tightly and about 6-7 days you will have a 3-4 inch tree started.. do not ever keep the plants feet wet- as the old farmers called it...meaning have good drainage holes as the roots will rot easily if you let them lay in water.. I actually grew, an apricot tree from the seed years ago= but that is one tough nut- seed to crack and supposedly poisonous I now understand.. seems if you can get a seed open you can plant it with the hot house method.. don't worry if yours take longer it could have been a different variety or greener , but will grow... am doing Meyer lemons have about 12 little trees...
