After 5 years of failing to grow daikon (all bolted), I bought some seeds while in Japan recently and have grown a beautiful one in about 2.5 months to same size as the video. I bought summer daikon seeds (you can get different season seeds there). I grew next to celery if that's of interest as I know partner plants can really affect the growth-celery seemed to work. Very useful video by the way as mine was just starting to flower and tops just going green.

I have a kike that has roots about 12" long! It is already off the mother plant. What can I do to keep it alive? Try to plant it with all the roots? Cut the roots? Let it hang free and water the roots when they look too dry? If planting, should I use orchid mix or orchid moss (wet)? I've never seen a kikie with such long roots! Cathie, Sarasota, FL

The seeds come out easily if you soak the berries.

Just tap the stem just behind the flower, this way you dont damage them and you still get 99 percent pollination, same with Tomatoe plants, or use back of electric tooth brush going, and you are also not touching their genitals, so they cant sue you in 5 years time when the me too 2 flower movement kicks in.

My keiki is a good 10 in up the mother shoot and has aerial roots that are 8 in. How far down the spike, from the keiki, should I snip?
