I have been growing pineapple plants in Germany for 30 years, have a tropical hot house to overwinter pineapples and I have bananas and papaya in the hot house all year round.

I have been growing Pineapple here west of Tampa for 25 years or so. Every year getting about 8 to 12 pineapples. Started out with a few then kept adding to the mix. Have about 30 plants now and 7 little pineapples so far this year. Been growing them for 25 years or more. They are like a maintance free hardy plant. All in large 22 inch containers. He is right, they are a little smaller but are sweet and tasty. All in the shade also.

Will the original plant produce more fruit. Or do the die after harvesting the pineapple

How deep do you have to plant a rooted top? It's rocky here in S FL, so I'm just wondering. Tired of growing my pineapple in pots.
