Got mine yesterday and couldn't figure it out. Much easier to watch someone do it than to read about it. Thank you for the video. I'm gonna get to rippin now. Thanks Chris

Interesting how critical reviews of the Gripper don't seem to stay posted on this video comment section, I'm a 32 year experienced carpenter who bought the Gripper, and I'm very disappointed in it's lack of grip when pushing 1x stock through the table saw, I'm returning it, not worth $57.00

Thank you for the video. Step 2 in the manual is COMPLETELY different than what you did. Manual says to put the screw and washer from the outside in, a nut on the inside and slide it in. Video says to put the a different screw from the inside out, washer and a knob on the outside. Couldn't get it the manual's way, but had no issue the video way

Get an extra washer and O ring. I followed in detail pausing. Now i need to go test it out. I was building a sled when UPS delivered it. So everything is setup, and ready to test it. Thanks.

Couldn't have assembled it without your video. Thank you. The instructional manual is one of the worst I have seen. Only confusion I have is that the stabilizing plate is not flush with the green grippers. When the stabilizing plate is flush with the table, the green grippers are now about 1/4" off the table. Is that the way it is supposed to be?

Вчера 2018-12-17 стал обладателем двух GR-200. Качество изготовления просто высший класс. Пластик не скользкий. Ничего не скрипит. Думаю надо очень постараться чтобы его сломать.

While certainly helpful, felt a bit rushed and the camera work could have showed more details.

Is there a way to make the center leg adjust without fighting it? Mine is incredibly tight.

This is such a great example of "it could have been a lot better" info video. Lots of long shots of him gabbing, and only a second or two of closeups w/ each step to see what he's actually doing. I found myself having to stop several times and trying to freeze the closeup frames. How about less of your face and a lot more of "this goes into this hole, like this."
@free2be
@free2be 3 жыл бұрын
Agree a 100%. A perfect example at 2:37, there are 6 holes, none can be sen from the angle he is holding the leg. Had to 'rewind' at multiple steps. Need to really slow down and repeat each step for clarity, stop and show us what was just completed.

Those orange o-rings are flimsy and snap apart on any pressure thus defeating their purpose which, by the way, is absolutely not clear in the manual.
@Microjig
@Microjig Жыл бұрын
The orange O-Rings are to keep the T-Bolts for the Stabilizing Plate from dropping when not actually being used. They will deteriorate over time but should last some years. If yours have not, please send an email to support@microjig.com and I can get replacements out to you right away.
@manofmystery5709
@manofmystery5709 Жыл бұрын
@@Microjig It's fine, thank you I don't need replacements, the orange o rings aren't useful to me anyway since the 2 large bolts are not at risk of getting lost LOL *but* I recommend you just 1) use a larger version of the black o-rings as they seem more long-lasting and 2) make it more clear in the manual that the o-rings are to just help not drop/lose screws/washers. Then it becomes clear they're not supposed to be structural which is more commonly the source of confusion for someone putting the jig together for the first time.
@Microjig
@Microjig Жыл бұрын
@@manofmystery5709 Thank you. We use the red because there is not a lot of size difference between the 10-32 and the 1/4-20 O-rings and the colors make it easy to tell them apart. There should be no difference in the longevity of the two, the only difference is the colorant added.

I appreciate the video, but for the extremely high price of this piece of hard plastic and a little hardware, don't you think you could have shipped it already assembled? Had I known I had to waste 15 minutes assembling little screws, I might have just followed one of the 3d printer templates for the same thing. I get we're paying for the innovation here, but come on. The manufacturing cost on this is so minimal.
@Microjig
@Microjig 2 жыл бұрын
To be honest, you can spend hundreds or even thousands on a table saw, drill press or CNC machine and have to assemble them. Additionally, the assembled GRR-RIPPER would require a much larger package so there would be added costs due to shipping. The GRR-RIPPER is not cheap certainly, but if it saves you one trip to the hospital, it is cheap insurance indeed.
