Hey guys! In this video we talk about What We Feed Our Chickens To Stay Healthy All Winter Long!
We got a message from @grubterra7874 asking us if we'd be interested in reviewing their black soldier fly larvae. It just worked out that we were getting ready to buy some for our chickens because they were in DESPERATE need of some extra protein in their diet!
In this video we got to share a bit about the difference between mealworms as well as black soldier fly larvae. We also share a bit about other fun things that we feed our chickens to keep them healthy all winter long!

Oh wow I didnt know about grubs ! We have rare/pure breed chickens... we feed them premium corn, laying pellets and oyster shells etc and we spend a fortune on tonics and medications for them. Maybe I will try and source something like that here for them? Next time we go to the farmers market I will see if they have this sort of thing there? I like to vary their diet where possible and make their days more interesting. Thank you for another wonderful and informative video Sebastian, much love to you x

That sounds amazing! I love hearing about everything you got going on! I have found the extra protein from the grubs really helps our chickens.

I started tossing some their feed around like scratch in the morning and that keeps them busy. Then, they get a treat, scratch with corn, BSFL, seed sprouts, and/or small black oiled sunflower seeds. And, I give them ACV once or twice a week and some electrolytes once a week. Also, just learned to mix some garlic in with their food! Dont forget herbs!
