LOWER 3600 yards Herbert? Hes NEVER had anyone to throw it to. Keenan and Mike were always hurt. He threw for 5000 yards throwing to nobodies in 2021. Insane analisys. Also, Linsley has been unnofically retired for like 9 months, made official like yesterday. These guys dont know the Chargers at all.

The Linsley comments set aside, I think this a pretty logical and accurate analysis. Herbert had a healthy Keenan, Mike, and Ekler in 2021…over 250 total receptions that season from just those three players combined. Herbert also had the fourth most passing attempts (of all time) in that season. When Herbert hasn’t had healthy top receivers it’s generally been pretty rough. The run game has been nonexistent since he’s been QB. They just haven’t had the personal at Oline or at the RB position to run the ball the past 4 years. Ekler had to be used more like a wide receiver coming out of the backfield to get involved in the game. Harbaugh will likely need more than one offseason to sculpt this roster into what he envisions for the future. Can the chargers still win games this season and possibly make the playoffs, sure…anything’s possible. I just think that this analysis is accurate in the sense that it’s pointing out some undeniable issues based on what we know from the returning players who are on this roster. Nobody knows what the unproven or new additions will bring to the table…will just have to wait and see how they perform.

Not a Chargers fan but you guys are going to be fine. Harbaugh is going to build a tough team that runs the ball. Year one will teach the skills of the system & the coaches will know which players have to be replaced for year 2. But Herbert will be protected & when defenses crowd the box to stop the run Herbert use play action will throw it over their heads. You guys are going to be a team that challenges the Chiefs & becomes rivals by year 2 of Harbaugh.

Couple of points..... A)Linsley retired and is no longer the center, B) to go through the receiver room and not mention Josh Palmer is insane, as he will be the top guy, assuming McConkey doesn't have a breakout year

These guys did not even know Lindsey retired. Also, they failed to mention the Chargers have an excellent receiver in Joshua Palmer and they signed CJ Clark. I remember two years ago Herbert was putting up big numbers to Deandre Carter and Michael Bandy for God sake. The problem the Chargers had was yes no running game, but it was a bottom of the league defense. Chargers will go 10-6.

I’ve seen better analysis from other no-name KZfaqrs. These folks baffles me since they’ve been in the league. Nobody to throw to? Justin Herbert didn’t have a competent offensive line and had no name receivers to throw to during his rookie year and still broke rookie records.

Herbert's abilities as a passer has never been predicated on the WRs...he's proven that no matter who suits up that he's going make all the reads and the throws and the offense will do what it does regardless. There is no amount of disarray you can put around Herbert outside of an absolute dumpesterfire of OL that is going to affect his ability to produce big in the passing game.. He's made an offense with no threat of the run, no defensive support, and limited possessions work and be competitive and in every game to end... You've not seen enough Herbert film if you think he's going to struggle.

People are really overthinking Alt being the RT. It will be much easier for him to adjust to the right side than most because he was a TE in high school and a swing tackle his freshman season at ND. Which means he has lined up and blocked on BOTH sides of the line more times than he can probably count. He’ll adjust quickly.
