Finally got the chance to sit down and have a few drinks and talk about the good Ol' days. I'm talking about MIA's own DMC Champion DJ CRAZE. We been a supporter and super proud of his genius on the wheels of steel. He's been part of CHP's journey in the music game with him doing cuts on our first album. Just another family member shooting the shit with us!!!!!!!

I co-founded ran the Worldwide ITF Battles out of SF for many years and I'm pretty stoked to say that Craze won his first "big" Title with our Federation and after that year (98) there was just no stopping him. His reign was pretty insane.

Are you talking about the Western Hemisphere scratching title? That was before his US DMC title? By the way, if Craze hadn't had needle trouble in the '97 US Final, do you think he would've beaten Slyce and Total Eclipse?

Craze has history for talking mad sh!t when he's lean. He started talking ish about x-ecutioners early in his career and afterwards said he was taken out of context. Craze is a great showman but he's not the best selector, doesn't mix for longer than 2- 4 bars for example. As a showman that combines all the elements, he's without doubt dope, and amongst the greats! However humility has yet to develop with his maturity. As a battle DJ, Kentaro would be a good battle because Kentaro has deep record knowledge, he's a dope selekta and can hang with the trix, juggles and cuts. Q though is on some other level, that shit is blasphemy Craze, you know he would wipe your azz two times over and put you to sleep in a scratch battle.

That's word --- Q has inspired millions more people than Craze. I give it up to Allies, I used to hang a lot with Giz in the late 90s and Shot used to kick it with the homies when he in the West. Mad respect and props to them...but even they were inspired heavy on ISP. If they were to battle today...no disrespect but ISP would shut the place down. Easy. --- Craze, is cool though he's more of like DMC type vs a ITF type. Q on the other hand is a DMC champ many times over as well as an ITF champ. So, he's both. --- Ultimately, Q is sort of the Bruce Lee of Tablism... he unlocked the secrets and taught the masses. Bringing knowledge and is style cultivating others. --- I was even pissed when he started doing that because all these little kids were getting way better way faster. But what can you do? IT's all part of the evolution and hopefully inspire to do more and innovate more etc. Q has definitely PUSHED the culture forward even till this day. ---- FACTS

It definitely sounds like craze got a personal vendetta. All us DJs Geek out on our craft. If you're any good at least you do So to me him saying that Qs a geek... he's really dissing himself. But Beefs are part of the hip-hop culture so if it's going down we need it to happen. I Say 1 battle ...2 segments... One straight scratching & 1 juggling. Probably end in a tie so let the audience decide vs declaring a winner like they do at some these emcee battles.

Mixing is a rare occurrence in hip hop when blending 16 bars, but can't be learned in a week. That's ridiculous. In house music it's a skill, especially with vinyl. Trying to mix 1-4 vinyl records for several minutes, blending the tracks to sound like one track at a time is skill. Nowadays sync can be used as a great tool if you're blending 4-6 tracks all at once. It helps with being more creative on the mixer. Just pointing this out from a house music DJ's perspective.
@scupakus
@scupakus 25 күн бұрын
You could learn mixing pretty quick. It's not rocket science. 4 turntables at the same time it's quite a skill thou. But few actually mix real vinyl and CDs has BPM meters for about 2decades

This is the 2nd Craze appearance where the alcohol does the talking. #teamQbert And E and Acid is candyflipping. I got it on the record Craze saying DJ Hype out of the U.K. (Pound for pound best DnB turntablist) inspired him. Vinyl is the only way to exhibit true supremacy as a turntablist too imo.
@scupakus
@scupakus 25 күн бұрын
Q also did acid. He even told a story about leaving the party because he was too high. Even Babu that investigated the term turntablism uses dvs. GMF use dvs. Craze use sync as he said.many times even in this interview. Get over it. Technology is to be used and push shit forward. If not for DVS the turntable would be not used for DJing at all long time ago as records weren't pressed that much so to play certain tracks you had to cut your own dub plates which are expensive

Q's been irrelevant for decades? Every time you hear craze...know that Q inspired him. Therefore, Q lives within and among the inspiration. --- Q is more of a skratch grand master, 33 mason type. --- He's innovating ideas and styles. Every event or little clip I saw him, he'd had a little new trick up his sleeve. --- I just saw him a in 2020, again. He had some new ill style. --- then everybody bites... thus, he lives within all those that he's inspired. I'm 100 certain he's inspired millions more than Craze... (millions bro...millions)

Shame after all these years he still seems like an arrogant tosser. I wouldn’t mind but I think he’s right in what he’s saying. If you put him and Q in front of a crowd, the crowd would probably vote for him because it’s the showmanship, and the beat juggling with your a@!hole that the average fan enjoys… But, why he couldn’t just explain that in a normal and humble way is beyond me. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have picked up a record if it wasn’t for Q and his influence. It’s definitely apples and oranges with Q admitting many times that he doesn’t “battle” anymore and has never been big on juggling. There is no way in a scratching battle he beats Q though, let’s be clear about that. Very grown men who have both had a huge impact on the culture and Craze still acting like a 15 year old. Kendrick said it best… be humble, sit down. 👎
