In the second part of this 2-part series covering my DIY 6000-mile scheduled maintenance service, I start by adjusting the slack in my chain and then lubricating it, which I do every 500 miles. That done, I run though the entire list of checks in the Owner's Manual, doing several of them including the "ding test" of the spokes. There was even a slight mishap along the way (not with the spokes ...).
