The town of Grundy, Virginia, had been subject to flooding by the Levisa Fork River. After the flood of 1977, a decision was made to move the town. An entire mountain was removed to make room for a new location for the town. This is the demolition of the old downtown, shot mostly from May to September, 2006. Over 40 commercial buildings and several private homes were demolished.
Video clips were taken from the hour-long DVD, "We Remember Grundy". WeRememberGrundy@gmail.com
