I remember the haters who were mostly the same age as them at the time. Daniel wrote these songs when he was 12 and 13. They were already playing half of their second album live in the same year that Frogstomp (first album) came out.

It's best to listen to Silverchair's discography from start to finish to fully understand their evolution of music, my personal ranking of their discography: 1: Diorama 2: Freak Show 3: Frog Stomp 4: Neon Ballroom 5: Young Modern Again i would reccomend listening from start to finish because then i think you have the best chance of appreciating their stuff later in their discography as it is nowhere near as heavy as their first 2 records.

@@oakenclient I know right? It’s like he’s trying so hard to be this avant-garde, borderline mystic, oracle of gen X. I mean I can understand it would have been total chaos even on a good day, with record label executives pushing you one way or the other with pressure to tour and write new music. Given the close proximity of Cobain’s death, the fact that he was a skinny little blonde haired kid with blue eyes most definitely helped them get attention to start with (that’s just facts, no matter how much they said they weren’t, they were). But much to everyone’s surprise, Dan was a naturally gifted songwriter, their first 3 albums are as solid as any other band in that genre. Then I think it all got to his head a bit too much, surrounded by yes men he just became a bore to listen to. I wonder what young Dan would think about the man he’s become. Somehow I don’t think he would be content with the walking contradiction he’s moulded himself into

@@Indonesiansurftravel Daniel had more stage pottential and professional way of improving as an artist and strated proving it from his early ages to present, but that doesn't mean that Kurt is a worse artist in any way! He had his own uniqueness that Daniel didn't have. Even that sometimes Kurt was doing simpler things, it was sounding really unique and specific in its own way! In music, there's no need to do something hard to sound good. Some of the greatest tracks ever were pretty simple and that's not a bad thing! Also, doing something hard in music, doesn’t necessarily guarantee you that it would sound even fine. So, I love both bands - Nirvana and Silverchair, support Daniel and Kurt. I was a die-hard fan of Nirvana for 3 years, now I'm a die-hard fan of Silverchair, but still love Nirvana so much. Both bands are great and we have to support them and appreciate their differences! We don't even have to compare and think about which one is better, because there's no correct answer for that. It's just about an opinion. 🙂💙⭐🔥✨

@@zakrowe1301 Why do you think that? Kurt has its own unique vocals, Daniel has, too. But Daniel's lyrics on some songs are incredible, too. Part of my favourites are "The Closing", "Learn to Hate", "Israel's Son", "Leave Me Out", "Undecided", "Cicada", "Shade", "Emotion Sickness", etc... "Tomorrow" was one of the few songs that they've had written without a deep meaning. Kurt's lyrics were pretty deep too, but there are lots of songs that he has had written, that he didn't actually mean anything with. For example - "All Apologies". He said in an interview that the song was about nothing. He said that he didn't mean anything with it. Of course, he can say one thing, and actually mean another, hiding it for yourself because in my opinion, it doesn't sound like he doesn't mean anything, but anyway... It's not necessary to always mean something with your lyrics. I'm a guitar player and vocalist, too and personally I love having a deep and secret meaning with my lyrics, just like Silverchair and Nirvana, but... Every artist has its own way and preferences. There are some like Linkin Park, with clear meaning of their lyrics, there are other artists with secret and deep meaning, artists that write lyrics about things that don't exist, artists that write lyrics as a joke, artists that write lyrics as something that they don't mean actually (like some deathcore or death metal musicians, writing lyrics about death and something like that) and artist who just write lyrics about radom things that they don't even care about (one example in my opinion is "Big Cheese" by Nirvana. such a funny song in my opinion! 😁😂🖤🎼). So, writing lyrics is something pretty specific in my opinion. It's about people's understanding, preferences and artist's personal thoughts! 🙂🧡🌟✨
