We've had plenty of quick Evos at Cootamudnra, but an automatic gearbox equipped one being the quickest was not what we expected! We had a fast Clubsprint Time Attack WRX and Susie ran here first 10 second pass. Great weekend!

Let’s not forget, everything done on that GSR was done in the backyard by only the man jman himself. Not in a shop like these other cars aswell as 10+ people to build.

Road and Track once wrote "... a Turbo Automatic can be quicker than a Turbo manual because the engine revs are kept constantly high while shifting (you don't need to release the gas pedal to shift) thus enabling the turbo to keep boosting during the upshift. They tested this once in Porsche and the Auto stick beat the manual by a second. But with the advent of VGT it became anyone's ballgame. Love that Lancer. 👍😎

Progress - is a very basic tune 7 year old RS3 running a very similar time to a fully built, 6466 turboed, MOTEC controlled mega $$ Sti (or as said here - “a relatively basic combination” 😳🤪😳). You know you’ve been hanging around 1000hp GTRs too long when a basic combination consists of spending ‘only’ 50k in mods….

My TTRS traps the same speed as that upgraded turbo e85 TTRS and I'm on stock turbo e85. Time to drop that APR tune and move to a custom DS1 tune. The upgraded turbo he has is either the SRM GTX 3582r or TTE700 should be trapping 140-143mph when he is trapping 136.

It’s a TTE 700 and the high DA at Cootamundra is probably effecting the outcome too. With E85, the torque is pretty much the same between stage 2 and 3 thanks to tunes controlling timing to protect the Conrods. Sure you can push more on custom tunes for a slightly higher top end for a dyno sheet. I’d do it to, if someone was paying for my DAZA rebuild.

in Puerto Rico a 4 Cyl Mirage with a 4g63 just won quickest 4 cyl i n the carribean. 202mph. stuped what this car can do with thast weight / power ratio

That Lancer is no joke Wish the 5 cylinder Audis in Aussie would go full frame and send it to the 8’s - off the self packages will do that on an unprepared surface. It’s costs a bit but a proven platform that is a genuine hyper-car killer

Hey Andrew I have a question for you mate not relevant to this video but if anyone would know the answer to this it would be you I reckon. There used to be a white r33 gtr in the Sydney scene not that long ago JET33 I don’t think he has any association with you just coincidence but when I first got my gtst in 2015 he was always around revesby and Liverpool KK’s and came on all the skyline cruises would always drive that monster like he stole it and dude could drive too do you know what happened to it? Rego check says the plate doesn’t exist anymore and my gtst is about to be back on the road with a new setup and I wanted to line him up for old times he will probably still walk me if the car exists as it did then 😂

Obviously they still perform, but pretty stumped why all the RS3s etc, even with all the fancy carbon intake piping, don't have enclosed airboxes?

Induction noise. No real noticeable loss in power for the very noticeable induction noise gain. It’s an owner preference.

@@ftovr2957 RS3’s are somewhat odd in that a down pipe only gives you 5-10hp even with a. Tune to reflect - which is unlike most cars and the stock intake and exhaust isn’t really that restrictive when you’re under 430kw. You probably get 20kw for the intake elbow that bolts to the turbo and maybe lose a kw or 2 for an open air intake. Most of the sexy carbon fibre intakes don’t add noticeable power for stage 1-2 cars above that of the factory pipe work. Mainly for aesthetics and a placebo for its owners.

I always found it boring running 3 second 0-100 on the street just by fitting a K&N filter, intercooler and an E85 tune and running late 10sec quarters on street tyres on street surfaces annoyingly consistently and reliably with only basic oil changes as maintenance overheads. I sure did miss spending tens of thousands $ and months in a shop building an engine, adding big turbos and big fuel systems to run 11’s on uncomfortable compromised cars that were inconsistent, generated lots of excuses, were terrible daily drivers, chewed up expensive tyres, and drank fuel like a sailor…. Nah, the rear facing dash cam recordings were worth it alone. 😂.

@@LukeCannotSkate who cares what brand it was or what it looked like ( I didn’t when I owned it) - I just wanted a fast car that could comfortably beat pretty much 99% of cars on the road without spending stupid money.
