Short video showing dyno testing of our SR swapped PS13 Q’s. This engine has been fitted with HKS 264 cams in and out, BC springs, retainers, Apexi HG, Tomei manifold and Garret GT2871R turbo.
HKS Hi-Power catback exhaust
This car made 361whp/315tq on 1.2 bar boost.

This is pretty much what I was thinking about running for my sr. When you guys did the valve springs and HG, was the block and head decked as well?

Yes. We recommend always decking head and block when using metal headgasket to ensure proper sealing

What fuel is this on? Curious as I have a very similar setup atm and going for a tune in a couple weeks, thinking of maybe going e85. I also have a GT2871R with .64 housing, and HKS cams too but 254/264's instead and I am also running 740cc injectors. Very nice build, love it!

Stock internals besides the cams? What injectors + fuel pump? Awesome S13

Thanks! Stock bottom end, the head has been fitted with BC springs and retainers. Nismo 740cc injectors and a DW 255 fuel pump.

@@GarageAbstract what motor was that? Sorry not familiar with this car. I got 2 of these I am bolting to a 3.5l vq35de that's built,complete with decent cams and porting of everything(heads,turbo manifolds,intake manifold,throttle body). I also have the .64ar housings. Hoping to make some power. Edit:sorry, saw it was SR20. Nice. Sounds good too. Any BOV?

this is a stupid question but does the gt2871r bolt up to the stock mani? also do you know if gt2835s do or not aswell

Not a stupid question! The stock manifold uses a “T2” turbo flange. So any turbo with a T2 flange on the exhaust housing will work! Some turbos are direct bolt on replacements for the factory T25/T28, while others may require custom intercooler piping and exhaust work. This particular turbo used in the video was just a direct bolt on unit

18x9, 18x10 high disc faces, I don’t remember exact offset. Original specs, never rebuilt. Would be perfect for the #2 driver of the Akagi Red Suns

Any reason going for the hks cams vs tomei poncams?

Tomei Poncams are a great drop-in replacement without needing to further upgrade the springs/retainers. However the 258 duration and 11.5mm lift of the poncam doesn’t offer as much as the 264 duration, 12.0mm lift of these HKS step 2 cams.

@@dennisrobinson8008 I recommend a tune with any cam upgrade. The poncams are “drop in” meaning they don’t require further valve spring or retainer upgrades, whereas the HKS 264 cams do

J M The car made 360whp and 315tq on 17 lbs. All the cams you’re considering are great, and it really just comes down to personal preference. We use HKS camshafts in all our cars because they’ve been proven through the years in Japan, and are most Japanese tuning shops camshaft of choice (Yashio Factory in particular).
