Welcome back to the series where I customize and review OG, and older DLC Vehicles from late 2015 and older that I was never able to make videos on. The reason I make these videos on these older cars is to provide my opinion on how they currently stack up to newer ones in-game. And ultimately, help you better decide on whether or not you should buy them when/if they go on sale.

The longish stop in the Hermes is because of the four wheel drum brakes equipped.

That analogy didn't make sense to me as a kid and it still doesn't. He's referring to counter-steering while in a slide, sure, but, couldn't he have just told Lightning "so, like, when you're sliding, steer in the opposite direction to straighten again" instead of this riddle detour he decided to go with instead? You don't go left when turning right while in a slide, you go forwards, anyway

For those who don't know, if you're lucky, you can get the Hermes in the autoshop, as some of the client cars are removed vehicles, and Hermes is among them.

I would like to see a re-customization video of the Hustler. It's a pretty unique car with the "trunk seats" that a lot of people don't know about, and you can make many different variants of it, from a Hot Rod to a normal old Ford.

The Hermes is the result of what happens when you do a resto mod on a car from the 1950s but you forget to change the drum brakes 😭

Perfect timing to remind me this car exists! Im making a garage of vintage very old fashioned looking clean cars and this is definitely one i will add but i domt have it on this current account and will need to do auto shop stuff until i get it

Thank you for keeping the chrome on this car. Everyone I see who have this car, they have it completely de-chromed or painted. Mine has the classic orange flames with a silver paint.

While the Hermes does have styling cues from the 1949 Mercury Eight and 1950 Hudson hornet it is overall mostly based on a 1949 buick sedanette you can tell the shape of the grill the body work the three vents on each side of the hood and the shape of the front and rear fenders. And as you are already aware it also has styling cues from the 1949 Cadillac series 62 which explains why Rockstar put it in the almany brand gta's equivalent to Cadillac and every now and then Buick.

Only the 3D era of the Hermes is based somewhat on the stock Mercury Coupe. The Hermes in GTA 5 is obviously not a stock Mercury, or Hudson. It's based 95% on a custom car legend named "Hirohata Merc". Everything, from the roofline, longer rear end, taillights and rear overfenders resembles that of the Hirohata custom. Check it out. It deserves your attention

Only wanted it for nostalgia, ended up with 2 once I found docs hornet skin. Wish the air suspension was delayed when slowing down, stopped using it because it’s worse than RC bandito for hitting curbs. Still a cherished car to me just not practical. Also you can buy it from auto shop when customers bring it.
