You know old PS4 are going for $300-$250 all day now cause the microchip shortage. It’s been this way since Covid. So in reality, it’s only a $200 difference except the PS5 is astronomically fast and (double the FPS) people.. you have to upgrade your tv to make the capabilities of a PS5 or you won’t notice as massive difference/double the performance. Don’t use old tvs.

⁠@@tupu_683they did bro. it went from 30fps to 60fps they added ray tracing. the game is now 4K not 1080p shadows and sharpness are now higher quality. they have faster loading screens. 3 seconds less of character switching time. they added adaptive triggers and better haptic feedback/vibration. they added way more vegetation and character physics. its basically a whole upgraded game

They did oore- textures were unscaled, hair was improved, anilising was improved, so when you look at a edge of a object in ps4, you'll see noticeable pixels, but on the ps4 they anilising was upped alot. Better shadow quality, shadows now react realistically. Previously shadows would be visible through eachother, same with lights. They have new added vegetation, you can now see trees or other objects from really far away when previously they would dissapeae of switch to a lower quality model. The overall vfx was improved, smoke, glass, fire, explosions all got updated effects and particle systems that some even react to collisions.

Imo the biggest upgrade when ps4 came out over the ps3 was that items didn't take a couple seconds to load when shopping for clothes, etc. I felt like that made clicking through shirts (something I don't like doing anyway) unbearable on the PS3. That, and the graphics were a little bit better, admittedly noticeably so, but for me, it was definitely how long it took to scroll through items. For the PS5, from what I can see, again the graphics got a small, noticeable upgrade, but nothing to write home about, more it looks like the draw distance with this generation has been increased significantly...it would be nice if you could fly around in a helicopter and be able to really see what's spawned below without having to essentially land to be within a sufficient spawn distance. Just so most of you can laugh at how old I am, I remember when GTA 1 came out and we would play it constantly, either the legit way or just phuqqin around. Then, GTA 2 came out and it absolutely sucked, and then there was GTA London, and we were all like okkkk? Whats the point of this game? (Keep in mind, we didnt have the phrase "asset flip" back then) so alot of us thought oh well, one and done, not very surprising. But... but, then Driver came out and I remember thinking if GTA can make a game like GTA 1 but with the graphics and 3D look of Driver, they'll have the most popular game ever released on the Playstation...and shortly after that, GTA 3 came out, and it was like omg, this is the game that everyone knew would be a smash hit if they could make the graphics, etc work and ps1 developers had finally gotten there, because idc what anyone says, if you compare most games from when a console launches until a year or so before it's being replaced by the next gen, there's no comparison in graphics and game design. It just takes the programmers some time to optimize for the console and discover all the little tricks and idiosyncrasies that make it what it is. Anyway, my point is, you basically have me to thank for the GTA series. I recognized its potential early on and supported it before anyone else did. Lol

I read your entire comment, without thinking that you would be a veteran in the saga, how great to hear something like that, the GTA are my favorite saga and ps I knew it with San Andreas when I was about 4 years old (now I'm 16) and since that day the GTA have been the best thing I've ever known, I know my comment has nothing to do with yours, but it's very cool,hear a story like yours, greetings from Colombia!!!

Hardware can push the game only so far. When you play you really do feel how dated the engine is, but it’s still better than any other game even though it’s 10 years old.

in terms of fps…a good upgrade. 30 to 60. but u have to sacrifice good graphics for fps. like if u want 60 fps, u gotta put peformance mode which lowers resolution and graphics. but if u want high graphics, u gotta sacrifice fps.

The game went from 720p 30fps to 1080p 60fps. Even though I love my frames, I refused to buy the PS5 version. It's a slap in our faces

The online is drastically different if you change your graphic settings to performance rt, yes same game and same shit from ps4 but it genuinely does look good especially on a tv that’s meant to handle it

GTA 5 was made during the final years of the PS3/XBOX 360, it’s the same game on both the PS4 and PS5 so obviously there’s not gonna be much of a difference. Now try running newer games, bigger difference.

So freaking disappointing first CDPR and then Rockstar. And while cyberpunk has been fixed I sit here today trying to play the definitive Edition Trilogy and it's skill terrible so that's 2 strikes for possibly what was my favorite game Company of all time. It's a sad time to be a gamer. If it weren't for a few of these badass indy developers I might have honestly quit playing anything except the classics like Superman 64 and any Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen licensed gems.
