Literary journals, magazines and publishers in Southeast Asia play an important role in building creative practice in the region. They are crucial literary ventures in a world where readers and writers look towards the West for acknowledgement and acceptance, whether in the form of publication, literary prizes, residencies or even degrees in Creative Writing. Representing a range of literary platforms from the region, the panelists will share their experiences and offer perspectives on how platforms can play a propulsive effect in deepening the literary landscape in a diverse, not to mention disparate, region.
