True, but it's unfortunate how a lot of dudes coming up lack the experience of rhyming over a beat, off the head, etc. all while battling spontaneous dudes they haven't been studying. That was an art in itself. These dudes are the last of the generation to come from that arena, as this was an example of the bridge that led to what is 'now', from the generations that battled over music.

Nick Mashing how is it a gimmick? what daylyt does are gimmicks. Con is strictly barz. rebuttals are not required when you got barz like that, it would be a waste. Its like Everything Mac said sounds like a setup, with no real punch to it. its like hes just making statements that rhyme. Maybe that was cool in 09. Mac much better now, but here Mac got crushed here. and notice in Macs recent battles he stopped using that angle, hes not good at it. Con crafts his rhymes in quotable fashion to make them land. I didnt get that from mac. If you are looking for an "Expose Type" rapper that can still craft lines peep Swave Sevah. now he would kill con with that style.

Yeah, there is a difference between Gimmicks and Techniques, gimmicks are things like props, and slogans. techniques are Schemes, Slow it downs and punchlines, nameflips, the whole idea is to make words hit. think of it like moves in a fighting game, but with words. illmac didnt really have any special moves at this time, infact most grind-time rappers didn't. But he has them now.

Like, even The Saurus himself went from his style (multies) to, all of a sudden, punchlines and gun bars. ***** Much to chagrin, as well as your lack of grammar and common sense. the whole entire battle consisted of non-linear jokes and using the exact same word play to purvey to Illmac that he's either Gay, whack, or how he lacks skill when Illmac himself made Con aware of those flaws in his rhyme, while staying consistent with his flow and style. I'm not discrediting Con as an artist. he has talent, which is why he's there to display it. That doesn't mean he's better than Illmac at all. You wish to contest and insult on KZfaq like every normal Teenager does to support their favorite product then that's fine with me. However, it won't change the fact that Con is memorable for only 2-3 lines while Illmac had simply told him the truth: he's basic. I've never even heard of this guy and last I've checked the 109 plus Smack URL videos, he's not even in the same LEAGUE as Loaded Lux, Calicoe, or even T-Rex! I've never knocked Con out of his talent at all, but it's the VERY SAME usage of "clever lines" that I've heard plenty of times and used word play to make them sound pretty. T-Rex is a goofy idiot that does it better than him! Illmac has carefully picked him apart and called him out on the VERY same things that he's done OVER and OVER again! Illmac has established himself as an artist that pretty much did it all. It's not about "just" the clever lines, but how strong you are with it and how you utilize the tools you create either on the fly or what you've written. As a writer and an artist, I'm pretty experienced in this. Con has GREAT talent but that battle was over-hyped and drowned out Illmac's masterful talent over bias. Case in point: Illmac > Con. Period!
