Hi guys, what are the best broken cards to buy for learning repair? i have a multimeter, soldering station and hot air station so i think the basics are covered (also we have a reballing machine in the shop). I work in a laptop repair shop but i mainly do a software related stuff and basic troubleshooting and cleaning. Couple of my colleague are good with electronics so they also help me.

damn, awesome videos im definitely hooked on this topic now. ive got two 980ti's wont post now dude to overload from being on the same circuit as a 1500w heater. pc shut off then wouldn't post.. I accidentally did this twice once with each card installed before i realized whath had happend. do you still repair them? or know some place that does? thanks . great videos

Hi . I do agree with this guy saying open ur own repair shop .You go the knowledge, the time, the instruments,you are smart and u know where to look for problems .You definitely need to repair all my stuff ;DDD for free ....just kidding on the last part .But consider that; alot of people have gaming pc faulty parts they cannot replace , you are just the solution .In my living area there's no repair shop ; the closest one is 500 km away .

Very nice video, i have yesterday received a zotac gtx 1070 mini 8gb (the one you show in this video together with the Gigabyte) , no screen, the card has all the voltage working, on the gpu, on ram, pci express, pll, should I think this is a dead gpu??? the gpu get also a voltage of 0.87 V and getting hot.

Hello @Eli Tech, I see this motherboard tester card for the first time and on the next video you are not using it. Could you please tell me what information the upper 4-digit display gives? Is this information necessary for diagnosis or is the lower 2-digit code sufficient?

Hi, Eli Tech! First of all you are doing grate job with repairs! Can you please point me out here. I have Sapphire R9 380 4Gb ram. This card stared to be unrecognised by the computer. But, if I try to start it by couple of restarts or turn on and of the computer, than it start working computer recognise it. Doing benchmark everting is fine, it sees 4gb of ram and fps is ok too, until I shut down or reset the computer, same problem begin with the graphic want boot again. It will boot after persisting with turning on and off the computer until is recognised. Can you please point me out which part on the graphic card is te problem or couple of them? I wish to try and change parts by myself. If you can make a video pointing this problem or leave comment here. Thank you!

I've seen a bunch of cards for sale on ebay where the seller says that there are green lines on the screen. Should I buy these cards as a beginner? I've been avoiding them because I've been assuming it's a gpu problem.

Do you have a schematic for testing the voltages?

I honestly had no idea that GPUs as powerful as the 1080 came in the mini size. I thought it was limited to the lower end, low power GPUs that got the small PCBs. I had a GTX 1050 Ti mini and it was a great budget card. But I can only imagine the potential for a much more power hungry GPU like a 1080 to be much hotter on such a small package. Are they clocked down at all on the mini sized cards?

How do I get a hold of you? I have a EVGA 1080ti SC2 Hybrid that needs fixing. Long story short. I live in a converted barn loft and I had a windowless case and a mouse (Yes a mouse got inside my case) pissed on my card and EVGA doesn't want to warranty it. I did take the card apart and cleaned it well but there is rust on some of the pads and missing soldier balls. The DVI is the only thing that works on the card.

I have that exact 1070 ti, and doesn’t ramp up the fans too much. Would you recommend a more aggressive fan curve? I haven’t had any problems so far

Hi Eli, thanks for your videos, I am looking them through as my GTX1080 has recently died. First it was no power to onboard fans, but I ran waterblock so it wasn't a problem. It ran fine for about 2 months but it just won't reach its normal V, and I was getting random lines on screen which would go away on reset. Just few weeks ago it died and I think it shorted because computer does not boot with it plugged in but other gpu works fine. I don't have your skillsets to replace chips , so I will hope to reball with heatgun and see if it comes back. is there a forum or website that I can post my process to get some hints/tips?

A 2.2 kOhm resistor was placed on the PCB instead of a 2.2 Ohm res? which is the source of the problem here?
