I have the same one, and I played A Plague Tale Requiem in ultra at 70 fps with the FSR 3 mod, I recommend it if you are going to play this masterpiece. The 1080 is still a beast, I hope I don't have to change it for a long time.

Only thing holding it back is the vram in certain games , still good for 1080p medium low settings it can last upto couple of years more

But the games released in 2023 like Last of Us 1 , Hogwarts Legacy ,Star Wars etc. Need more than 8 GB VRAM you can still play at ultra but there will be stutter and frame drops . In future more and more games will require more than 8gb vram.

I think it's better to test without fsr UPD. FSR better to use from 2K permissions.

So i have a question i have i5 7600k (no overclock) and i have 8 gb of ram (2133 mhz) and yes im willing to upgrade but i have a chance to buy GTX 1080 but is it worth it for this setup? Of course later i will change my motherboard and get 16 gb ram like 3000 mhz and above but this graphic card is just a sweet price you know so any advice guys?

Currently running 1080 with an i5-7600k and I constantly run into the cpu being a hard bottleneck, especially in newer games. Trying to run modern warfare 2 with it gets me a solid 40 frames, 100% cpu use and 10% gpu. Mind you it isn’t oc

GPU is still viable. What's the problem is CPU and RAM in your setup. If you are asking if GTX 1080 is worth getting - pretty much yeah ( depends what new games you want to play on which settings ). GTX 1080 is rather too much for your PC spec.

@@fennri430 nah i decide to change whole thing i remove my motherboard to this that supports 3200 mhz of ram and im getting two of them (i mean 2 per 8 gb) and im also getting ssd to run shit faster and 1080 Ti not 1080 and as long as i saw ill be around 5% bottleneck so its like okay i know that this i5 7600k is not meant for ultra gaming this years but it will do for now

I own the RX 5700XT 50th Anniversary Edition, which delivers a performance that is comparable to the GTX 1080. While it's a great option for 1080p gaming, I have found that it struggles to keep up with 4K gaming in new games, even on lowest settings. Despite owning a 4K monitor myself, I'm unable to consistently game in 4K with this card. But the new cards are just too expensive for me as a student.

You will damage your eyes with 75hz monitor, everything above 100hz is clearly better choice and must have nowadays. 1080p 144hz is a small budget monitor. You can get one around 80 bucks from aftermarket.

@@SiimLees Why? I used a 2k 165hz monitor, but my video card could show 60-70fps in top games and 80/90 in cod - it suited me; but I moved to Indonesia, buying used equipment is not the best idea here, my gaming laptop burned out from humidity in 2 years 🤦♂️

@@Marchello_ i have used over 100hz monitor for 13 years for now and can't go back to lower anymore. Eyes will get tired so fast and i can see laggy cursor and windows when moving even on desktop. I also suggested my company to buy over 100hz monitors to office workers and after they tested those they instantly accepted my suggetion. If you are happy with 75hz then it's okay. ☺️

144hz is standard now. I can't imagine anything less. Even one of my laptops has a 120hz and its passable, but 144hz is the new standard. Even for doing things that aren't gaming related. It has become frustrating to use a screen that is less than that for me now.

its because he has it paired with an i3. Granted it is a pretty new one, but the GTX 1080 still has 8GB of VRAM and is pretty capable so having a processor with more cores and cache is always going to help. I have a similar system but I have in i5 12600K and the FPS are not only 10 fps better on average but the %lows are much more consistent with the average. Thinking about doing a GPU upgrade pretty soon but I have had this card for 6 years now and it has never had an issue running anything at 1080p high refresh rate, especially if you bump some settings down. Even back in the day, I used to play a lot of games locked at 60 fps 4k with no issues at high or ultra settings.
