Sir, Alphonse Kannamthanam's story of becoming an IAS has a hidden or untold story. After his SSLC he had joined seminary to become a priest in Shillong, Meghalaya. After studies he left seminary and attempted IAS, and the rest is his IAS story. He very conveniently hides his seminary life. I had heard his story personally where he hid the story of seminary life. He did not cogitate for six months in the house and came out like Bhudha. Instead he joined seminary where he really learned English.

As usual another great episode from you Dear Dinesh.! Almost everything in this episode is true. But a few omissions were noticed. 1. Goodnight Mohan's real name is a typical Tamil Brahmin name like Kalyana Raman OR Janaki Raman. 2.He graduated from the Govt. Engineering College (in Electrical Engg, I think) before leaving for Bombay in search of a job. 3.Another thing is the surprising and sharp memory of Bal Thackeray in identifying the cartoonist who drew the caricature of Good Knight Mohan. It is not very surprising bcos Bal Thackeray was a famous and good cartoonist before becoming a great political figure! Same is the case of our firmer Chief Minister Shri. K.Karunakaran. He was also a good painter & cartoonist before turning his attention to Politics..! And Hitler too was a good painter and designer before becoming the dictator. He tried to get admission in the Vienna school of Architecture & Painting. But he failed to get through the screening test and was denied admission there! If he got admission there in the Vienna School of Arts , the World History would have been different. ! Anyway agreat good episode from Dinesh..Waiting for more such great episodes! All the best!
