This episode of History Adventures will be some epic drone footage that we filmed while on Guadalcanal.
This drone footage includes the Guadalcanal American Memorial, The Thin Red Line, Hill 27, Gifu, Barana Village, Goettge Patrol, Mount Austen, Munro Memorial, The Ravine, Kinugawa Maru, Red Beach, and Kennedy Island. History Adventures - New videos are released every few days.

I'm so impressed and surprised by the population increase over what I've read about Guadalcanal back then. Only maybe 500 whites and native villages scattered throughout the island. The entire Solomon island chain had about 100k people living in it in 1942. I understand it's population is more than 7x that now!

Honiara has really expanded since I was last there around 1985. So much easier with the drone, and to think I spent hours with my Solomon Islander friend walking all those WW-II trails in the tropical heat, getting back to town with numerous cuts, abrasions and insect bites! It was worth it though...Mount Austen, Bloody Ridge and Matakanau Falls were well worth the effort.

I had on shorts my first walk out in the hills big mistake, small grass cuts from my knees to my ankles.

Magnificent production. Is Guadalcanal still loaded with Malaria mosquitoes?
