Actually, atop that tower, I shot a flying guardian from afar, and it long-shot me instantly killing me.

You mean Akkala Citadel. Akkala Tower is just a Sheikah tower. The citadel was where the knights made their last stand.

There was a point where all i would do in the game would be to line up these long distance guardian parries, it became so addictive. hahahaha i bet there's someone out there who has managed to somehow parry fall damage or someone working on a way to do so.

Would daruks protection count as a parry? If so then you can parry fall damage.

If you paraglide down then shield surf at the right time, you can parry it.

You can parry fall damage with daruk's protection. It's still more useful to just pull out the glider or fall damage cancel.

I just don't really find parries with Daruk's Protection satisfying, since it doesn't involve timing. It's more of just protection than parrying if you ask me.

@@SteeKhutsy yeah I actually just got a 3rd core from a guardian a couple days ago and upgraded my stasis and I finished the korok trials yesterday

I recommend saving before so you can reload for your shields. Btw, shields in chests respawn every blood moon. I also would say (if you don’t mind fighting a stalnox) that the Hylian Shield’s durability can withstand a guardian attack or two.

And one last thing... I glided onto a Stalker Guardian. I was on it's head and piloted it around for a while... then cut it's leg... and ran like heck!

I would like to say that i never miss a parry but that would be a lie. In a 1 on 1 i land them around 90% of the time i would say. The flying ones are a pain for some reason though. Just keep practicing and before you know it you will be landing them with ease. Check out my newest guardian parry compilation from a few months back and you can see how much better i have got since making this video.

Hahaha pot lid is the way to go! If you are having trouble try panning the camera so you have a lot of visible distance between yourself and the guardian. You see me do it a lot in this video. It helps with your visual cue to parry quite a lot I hate it when you land the parry and just catch fire and burn to death haha.

If you die, you parried too early and the beam hit you while your shield was to the side afterwards. If the beam deflects harmlessly away, you parried too late and the beam hit your shield beforehand.

Hahaha its all about putting the practice in, after a few hundred hours of botw you will land it almost every time. If you liked this compilation you should check out the recent one i uploaded! Also i mostly go for an audio cue if im close to the guardian but in the long distance ones im going from a vusual cue.

It takes a while to get used to the timing. I try to get the angle from a side view so link and the guardian are at complete other ends of the screen so i can clearly see the laser as its travelling towards me. After a few long distance shots its becomes fairly easy to pull them off as you have a lot more time to react and prepare

@@SuperMilltendo This. And addition to that, you should watch out for the horizontal flash that you will see just before the beam hits you. That is the time when you should parry. But even that timing can be different if you are even closer. But just look at the horizontal flash

Same! Those flying ones are such a pain! You can use bomb arrows to take their propellers out and they will drop to the floor to make it a little easier, but yeah I always whip out the guardian arrows too for those drone guardians!

My biggest tip is to move the camera so there is as much viewable distance between link and the guardian. It makes timing the parry a lot easier. Try to get link in the bottom right and the guardian top left of the screen. Apart from that it's just a lot of trial and error until it eventually clicks. It's something you just pick up over time. Try to learn to react to the parry when its right infront of link instead of trying to remember a timing for each specific distance. If you can learn to parry this way, then the distance doesnt matter as the timing will always be the same. Hope this makes sense, kind of hard to explain over text.

As long as you land the parry the shield never degrades or breaks. Only if you hold shield and take the shot it will break almost all shields. The hylian shield can take a bunch of shots but does eventually break.

Zelda did it first in skyward sword for the wii. If you mean any game, any genre then I wouldn't even be able to guess but would assume it would be a fighting game.

The guardians do have a maximum range before they sort of disappear into thin air. I am pushing the maximum range many times in this video. And I never could figure out why some guardians instantly shoot back. I did sort of figure out that this mostly happens when you are a lot higher than the guardians or if you are standing directly ontop of one, face to face and hold your shield out to block the laser, this makes the guardian keep shooting until it either hits you or it gets killed.
