Save the villagers and trick your allies! In this week’s Game the Game, host Becca Scott is joined by Tommy Walker, Julia Dennis, and Jason Nguyen to play Guardian’s Call from Skybound. In this social deduction game, players must gather weapons, ancient artifacts, and use magic spells to safeguard the villagers to become the Guardian of the Realm.

At 14:00 the cards were Shields but the video overlay shows Weapons. other than that good video. Looks like a fun game

Wow, that looked like a fun game! Should be a house rule against bending cards. I didn't view the rules video, but I could follow most of the gameplay. This reminds me of Splendor, with a few more mechanics to expand the game, and add more D&D element. Thanks for posting this quality production video!

I wasn't sure about this one from the HTP, but it plays very well indeed. I like the variety of strategies you can employ; enough to make it hard for everybody to keep track of what you're trying to do, but mechanics simple enough that they're all easy to follow when you're doing them.

I feel like this game would be better just with a simple house rule: After you draw up to 6, you play one card into your tAbleu, then play resumes as normal (make a bid to a player). That little change gives the game some much needed control :).

For Tommy's Affinity, I have a question: He turned two Spells into Villagers and his Affinity allows him to gain 1 gold coin for each Villager he gains. Does that means he would gain two coins for the spells that were converted or do the card he gains have to be villager cards?

It's a glitch with youtube that causes the first frame of a video to flash in the video. Seems like it's been happening in more and more videos lately.
