Guardians of the Galaxy Groot Canal Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Interrupt a Charger with Groot's Call to Action. [Bronze]
Chargers can be found in Chapter 10 & 13. In Chapter 10 they are the monsters called "Ogrode" that look like golems with a brown head and come running at you. In Chapter 13 they are the Wendigo that look like big gorillas. Either of these works for the trophy. You must weaken the enemy first and wait for Groot to walk up to him and grab him by the neck. Then the TRIANGLE/Y prompt will show up. It has to be specifically the prompt where Groot first lifts up the enemy with his hands. The problem is that Groot rarely does it and in most encounter he will never ever attempt this at all no matter how long you wait. So unlike for the other trophies, letting your teammates go down doesn't necessarily help with this.
Your best bet is to do it in Chapter 10 against the first Ogrode encounter. Weaken the enemies so they are near death (about 15% health left). Then just hope to get lucky that Groot grabs the enemies by their throat and lifts them up in the air. If Groot isn't doing it, restart the encounter and keep trying. It took me about 30 minutes of trying and 10-15 checkpoint restarts until he did it once, entirely luck-dependent.

What i hate more than anything with these trophies is if you miss it you can't just to a quick select to this section you need to play through the majority of chapter 10 again (Which isn't the smallest chapter). An Arena mode would have been perfect for this.

Switch difficulty to normal. Scan enemies at the start of encounter, drop health to 15% and Groot will do his thing. Worked on first try with this method.

scanning enemies isn't necessary. I didn't get the workbench upgrade that lets you scan enemies, dropped the enemies to 15% or less, and just waited... and waited. Eventually Groot walked over and gave the Triangle prompt.

As advised by Klone YT you need to first scan the enemy then execute the call to action, I scanned the enemy as Groot was lifting him, keep in mind that Groot needs to swing his arm to stun the enemy (no stun gauge) and then he'll go for the choke.

Be sure to reload checkpoint before finishing off the enemies. Otherwise, the game will auto save and you’ll have to restart the chapter.

I'm loving this game, and for the most part, the trophies are super easy to get, but some like this are so annoying. Luckily, you only have to do these once. Imagine if you had to do this 5 times or so.

If you fail it you don't have to restart the chapter, just go further into the chapter and there's gonna be tons of Chargers, plus you can do this in chapter 13 aswell.

This was the last trophy I was missing. Tried 3 times in easy, I scanned enemies. But I wasn't getting Groot to catch the enemy. Then I changed the difficulty to normal, scanned the enemies and got it on the first try.

Accidentally killed the third one, restarted from checkpoint and it juat progressed, had to restart the chapter all over again, man this game is frustrating

I've had to reload my checkpoint so many times I've lost count. I don't get the Triangle prompt. Just the Triangle + Square one where the whole party attacks. How the heck am I supposed to get just the Triangle button prompt?

Managed to get this after 4 attempts, hope it helps someone. I did this during chapter 13 at the first Wendigo! encounter. I then set the difficulty to normal but changed the elemental cost to half. I then scanned one of the Wendigos and got them all to half health, I then found the one closest to Groot and used the Ice elemental to stick him in place and as soon as I did that groot picked him up and I got the call to action, then the trophy

I kept on electrocuting the guy until groot made the move. Easy trophy. Just make sure you are around groot all the time.

@@dav2-094 honestly I saw another comment mention scan him first and also it seemed to work on the wendigo right away for me in chapter 13. As for getting groot to actually do the move you just need to keep restarting before the end of the fight and hope he'll eventually grab the enemy.

It doesn't automatically give it to you simply for doing the call to action. It specifically has to "interrupt" an attack. It's the dumbest thing ever as a call to action is essentially supposed to interrupt attacks anyway but certain timings can make that not so

For me it took about 10 succesful call to actions from Groot (which he did not perform on some attempts) to actually register as an interrupted attack.. pretty stupid trophy imo. Easy platinum ,but few stupid trophies. And an amazing game!

I was having a tough time getting Groot to execute his action for the Triangle prompt, but here's what happened when he finally did it: 1) Gamora and Rocket were downed. 2) Only the 3rd Charger was present. 3) The Charger had barely exited its Stagger from my Lightning Guns. What seems to be the issue with Groot is the combination of how slow Groot is with his attacks, and the fact this "lift up" action (which triggers the prompt) is decently rare to see. The Charger, even on the easiest settings, is significantly more aggressive than Groot is; the Charger will frequently get out of Groot's range, or Groot will be on the floor due to an attack. So I think the trick is to try to get the Charger to stop moving for a second for Groot to land the attack, which might mean getting the Charger Staggered might help. To be clear, it's *not* the Stagger itself you're looking for - I doubt Groot will ever break the Stagger animation with his action (i.e. Groot likely can't break something out of being "frozen" from Ice Guns). Rather, there's a slight moment of time after the Stagger that the Charger won't move around quite as much. Although Ice Guns don't do any damage, the moment of time after an "Ice" Stagger seems to be fairly small; with Lightning Guns on the other hand, I've seen the Charger idle for about 2-5 seconds after the Stagger has ended. That would be my suggestion - Keep Groot as close to the Charger as possible, Stagger the Charger with Lightning Guns, then just hope Groot uses his attack once the Stagger ends. I did manage to get Groot to do it a second time (doing exactly what I just wrote) as I was writing this. I did have the Charger scanned at the beginning of the fight, but I don't know if that had an impact on anything (it certainly didn't do anything in previous attempts). I can confirm it has nothing to do with the Charger's HP though, as I've triggered it above 50% and below 50%.

@@colinkennedy7115 I'm not, i just finished the game, found many bugs and glitchs. Reload last check point might help some point. But still, i found new outfit in this chapter but can't go back, because glitch, groot cant lift me up, because he and the rest waiting in the other side, and wont follow you neither help you. Overall i still enjoy the game.

My problem is I tend to kill everything before my allies get a chance to do the prompt. But after beating the game on my first play through I had all but 6 achievements so I might as well grind for it. I got nothing better to do rn

@@warmcnugget7843 I don't hav ewt better to do but I spent over 2 hours reloading the same checkpoint just for the promt to never show and all I did was hang back not even firing a shot, RNG achievements are annoying as hell, great game tho.

@@kieranriley1624 what I find to work for all of these prompt trophies is to have the difficulty to where everyone gets kilt and revive only the person I need for the trophy makes it much easier
