The Wiyot tribe from present-day Humboldt County have fought a long and hard battle for recognition and restored access to their land, including regaining ownership of traditional ceremonial grounds on Tululwat, an island in Arcata Bay. When leading energy developer, Terra Gen, proposed a large wind project on a spiritual and gathering area, the Wiyot opposed the greater ecological disruption that the project would deliver and rallied the community to defeat it.

Cheryl Rocks! I loved how she handled it calmly as much as possible. I can tell, money is the root of all evil is money, power, and control to be found, they think that we would sell our mother. How low can one go to make a handshake agreement with the devil? Our Earth is our life and our planet is suffering over greedy and power.

my first experience in humboldt was when 3000 of our steelworkers were sent to the picket lines by kaiser and charles hurwitz. i joined the roadwarriors there in the spring of 99. watching this made me realize how much history i missed in the months i spent there and when i first heard about this wind deal i thought those things are going up everywhere so whats the big deal about this one? thanks to this documentary my eyes are now wide open and i am proud of these people and what they did. i am a member of the coeur d alene tribe northern idaho and am passing this link along to everyone i know. great job people. those fights can be long and hard and this one paid off.

Amazing episode!! I was there at the supervisors hearing and it was incredibly emotional. I think roughly 270 people spoke over two days.

These people sound like good socialists. If it was your land, than you can do with it as you like.
