That’s would be neat to sit and listen to. I was getting a ct scan at a small imaging center in my town and when I was done the mri was starting and u could hear it clear as day from the waiting room. I wanted to sit and listen to it but I had to go uhh 🙄

by the way, what component made that sound? the magnet itself or there's a speaker inside? 😂

The magnet and the gradient coil in the bore as current goes into coil at such a fast and high rate it vibrates and causes the noises.
@kerimmededovic13973 жыл бұрын
@@thesiemensmriguy And the chirping sound is the coldhead cooling the helium inside the magnet to near space cold.
@thesiemensmriguy3 жыл бұрын
@@kerimmededovic1397 correct. Helium is a liquid at 4* Kelvin. The chirping is made by squeezing gaseous helium through an orifice and then sending that hot helium to a helium compressor which in turn pushes the heat into a chilled water source.

I had 2 mri scans on my head a few years ago. Everything was fine btw. I was scanned on a ge 3t system an older magnet I forget the model # but if I saw a pic I could remember. The noises were absolutely awesome music to my ears. The headphones had music going but I mostly ignored that and focused on the noises. The one I didn’t like was the long continuous ones where their is no break it’s like this first sequence is lol. The others were not bad. Sorry for the long reply lol. @@milojkokitic6991 I think I know what you mean. However, I have never heard it as it is in your posted video. On our system, some sequences have short "tocks" built into them at the beginning. Usually three of them, one for each gradient. For this, each of the gradients is shortly played out after one another. I think this is to indicate that scanning starts soon (or to mentally prepare the gradients for the work to come :D Who knows).
