People don’t understand it’s not just the banks that have exposure to commercial real estate and all other assets that need to be marked down. The banking system is so interconnected that if NYCB goes down there’s other banks that on their balance sheets have assets and liabilities tied to NYCB and NYCB going bust can make them go bust as well and then you could start a domino effect. It’s never just 1 bank that goes bust.
